About AperiWine

AperiWine — L'Aperitivo Piacentino is the widespread aperitif festival that enlivens the historic center of Castel San Giovanni, in Val Tidone (Province of Piacenza, Emilia-Romagna). For an entire afternoon, the town's venues pair with wineries from the Piacenza Hills: move from bar to bar sipping creative cocktails based on local wines, accompanied by typical products and delicious dishes, meeting producers and listening to DJ sets and live music. A convivial food and wine journey that tells the identity of Piacenza wine in a modern way.

AperiWine, the widespread aperitif of Castel San Giovanni

AperiWine — L'Aperitivo Piacentino is the event that transforms the historic center of Castel San Giovanni, in the heart of Val Tidone, into a large widespread aperitif. Promoted by the Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori dei Colli Piacentini (Road of Wines and Flavors of the Piacenza Hills) together with the Sette Colli Association of Ziano and the Municipality of Castel San Giovanni, the event is one of the most vibrant showcases of food and wine from this corner of Emilia-Romagna, in the Province of Piacenza.

How it works

The formula is simple and engaging: the venues in the historic center and adjacent streets are paired with a winery from the Piacenza Hills. The public moves freely from bar to bar, sipping original cocktails made with local wines and tasting typical products and creative dishes conceived by the venue managers. At each stop, you can meet the wine producer directly and discover their story, in a direct dialogue between those who make the wine and those who drink it.

Wines and flavors of the Piacenza Hills

The absolute protagonists are the wines of the Piacenza Hills, reinterpreted in a contemporary key through mixology: the reds, whites, and sparkling wines of the local tradition become the base for new aperitifs. The pairing with typical Piacenza products — from DOP cured meats to valley cuisine specialties — completes an experience designed to showcase the gastronomic identity of the territory in an informal and accessible way.

Music and atmosphere

Accompanying the tasting is music: DJ sets and live music liven up the various AperiWine spots scattered throughout the center, creating a festive atmosphere that lasts until evening. The event attracts wine lovers, curious visitors, and families, contributing to the vibrancy of the town's squares and streets.

Welcome Val Tidone

AperiWine is part of the Welcome Val Tidone calendar, the event that brings together five municipalities in Piacenza in over twenty appointments around the themes of food and wine, commerce, and territory enhancement. For Castel San Giovanni and the entire Val Tidone, it is an opportunity to network venues, wineries, and producers, strengthening the bond between the town and the surrounding vineyards.

AperiWine — edition 2026

The second edition of AperiWine — L'Aperitivo Piacentino took place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, in the historic center of Castel San Giovanni. Ten venues in the town were paired with ten wineries from the Piacenza Hills, for an afternoon of cocktails based on local wines, typical products, DJ sets, and live music, as part of the Welcome Val Tidone project.

AperiWine 2026 — second edition
