The widespread aperitif in the historic center of Castel San Giovanni, between venues and wineries of the Piacenza Hills
AperiWine — L'Aperitivo Piacentino is the event that transforms the historic center of Castel San Giovanni, in the heart of Val Tidone, into a large widespread aperitif. Promoted by the Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori dei Colli Piacentini (Road of Wines and Flavors of the Piacenza Hills) together with the Sette Colli Association of Ziano and the Municipality of Castel San Giovanni, the event is one of the most vibrant showcases of food and wine from this corner of Emilia-Romagna, in the Province of Piacenza.
The formula is simple and engaging: the venues in the historic center and adjacent streets are paired with a winery from the Piacenza Hills. The public moves freely from bar to bar, sipping original cocktails made with local wines and tasting typical products and creative dishes conceived by the venue managers. At each stop, you can meet the wine producer directly and discover their story, in a direct dialogue between those who make the wine and those who drink it.
The absolute protagonists are the wines of the Piacenza Hills, reinterpreted in a contemporary key through mixology: the reds, whites, and sparkling wines of the local tradition become the base for new aperitifs. The pairing with typical Piacenza products — from DOP cured meats to valley cuisine specialties — completes an experience designed to showcase the gastronomic identity of the territory in an informal and accessible way.
Accompanying the tasting is music: DJ sets and live music liven up the various AperiWine spots scattered throughout the center, creating a festive atmosphere that lasts until evening. The event attracts wine lovers, curious visitors, and families, contributing to the vibrancy of the town's squares and streets.
AperiWine is part of the Welcome Val Tidone calendar, the event that brings together five municipalities in Piacenza in over twenty appointments around the themes of food and wine, commerce, and territory enhancement. For Castel San Giovanni and the entire Val Tidone, it is an opportunity to network venues, wineries, and producers, strengthening the bond between the town and the surrounding vineyards.
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, AperiWine returned to enliven the historic center of Castel San Giovanni with its second edition, following the success of the previous year's debut.
The protagonists were ten venues in the center and adjacent streets, paired with as many wineries from the Piacenza Hills. Participating venues: La Fenice, Anetho, Caffetteria Mazzini, Teatro Caffè, La Fantasia Pizzeria, La Sonada, Il Barino, Moroni, Caffetteria Ely, and Zanzibar. Paired wineries: La Tosa, Ferraia, Civardi, Cantine Romagnoli, Sartori Federico, Loschi Vini, Fratelli Piacentini, Ganaghello di Losi, Savini Paolo, and Aradelli.
At each stop, it was possible to meet the wine producer and sip original cocktails made with wines from the Piacenza Hills, paired with typical products and creative dishes. There was also music, with DJ sets and live music at the various AperiWine spots.
