Antiques, hobbies, and gourmet food in the streets of Castelnuovo Don Bosco
In the heart of the Asti region, among the hills bordering the provinces of Asti and Turin, the town of Castelnuovo Don Bosco hosts one of the area's most popular antique markets twice a year. The Antique Market turns the town center into a large open-air exhibition space, with over 200 stalls spread along the village's streets and squares.
The event's hub is Piazza Dante, from which the stalls radiate into the neighboring streets and squares: via Roma, via Regina Margherita, via Viglione, via Seglie, via Dei Rivalba, as well as Piazza Don Bosco and Piazza Piemonte. For those arriving by car, parking is available in Piazza Italia and Viale Europa, just a short walk from the market area.
The market is a paradise for collectors and vintage lovers. Among the stalls, you will find hobbyists, antique dealers, and exhibitors showcasing their unique artisanal creations.
Alongside the antiques, a section of the market is reserved for local products. A highlight of the food and wine area is the presence of the Enoteca Regionale di Albugnano, a reference point for local wines and a perfect opportunity to discover the excellent vintages from the hills surrounding Castelnuovo Don Bosco.
The Antique Market has a fixed place in the local calendar: the first edition traditionally takes place on April 25th, marking the start of the season, while the second event is held on Ferragosto (August 15th) and is linked to the Feste di San Rocco. On both occasions, the village comes alive for an entire day, from early morning until late afternoon, attracting visitors from across the Province of Asti and the nearby Turin area.
Organized by the Municipality of Castelnuovo Don Bosco with the support of local entities, the market is a key event in the life of the community, in a town known for its ties to Saint John Bosco. Between antiques, local products, and the convivial atmosphere of a festive Piedmontese village, the Antique Market is an ideal occasion for a day dedicated to collecting and the flavors of the Asti Monferrato region.
By car: Castelnuovo Don Bosco can be reached via the A21 Turin-Piacenza motorway (Villanova d'Asti exit) or via the provincial roads connecting Chieri to Asti. Parking is available in Piazza Italia and Viale Europa.
The market runs all day, approximately from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Free entry.
Arrive early in the morning for the best finds and set aside time to visit the food and wine area to taste the wines from the Enoteca Regionale di Albugnano and local products from the Asti hills.
