Three days of food, wine, art, and music in the heart of the Asti Monferrato
In the heart of the Asti hills, the municipality of Antignano hosts one of the most cherished events on the local calendar every June: Antignano Taste & Culture. For an entire weekend, the village's historic center comes alive with a widespread food and wine trail, cultural events, and performances, creating a festive atmosphere that brings together residents, local associations, and visitors from across the province of Asti and the wider Piedmont region.
The beating heart of the festival is the food and wine trail, consisting of ten stations distributed along the streets and squares of the historic center. Here, visitors can sample traditional Piedmontese dishes and local winesโfrom Barbera to the whites of Monferratoโon a delicious itinerary that invites you to wander and discover hidden corners of the village. The stations open in the late afternoon and keep the evenings lively until late, accompanied by numerous live music spots.
Beyond the food, the festival places great emphasis on culture. The church of San Rocco hosts a painting exhibition curated by the Artemisia Association of Asti, while the BMA Ecomuseum offers conferences dedicated to local heritage, such as the "Sacred Hills" meeting. Popular traditions are also well-represented, with flag-waver performances, a local produce market, and craft workshops. Sunday morning is dedicated to nature, with a "herbal walk" to discover the flora of the Antignano hills.
The evenings are marked by concerts and shows that animate the squares: from tribute bands to street performers, including the evocative fire show and circus arts that enchant both adults and children. The grand finale is traditionally a musical tribute to the great Italian singer-songwriters, capping off the three-day celebration in a festive spirit.
Organized by the Municipality of Antignano with the support of local associations, the festival has grown edition after edition to become a landmark event for the Asti Monferrato. Admission to cultural trails is free, and a free shuttle service connects peripheral parking areas to the historic center, making the festival accessible and convenient for everyone.
The fourth edition of Antignano Taste & Culture confirms the winning formula of the three-day event: ten food and wine stations along the streets of the historic center, cultural events, and plenty of live music. The festival offers a rich program spread across the village squares, with a free shuttle service operating from peripheral parking areas.
Antignano is located in the province of Asti, in the Monferrato hills. By car, it can be reached via the A33 Asti-Cuneo motorway or the provincial roads connecting to Asti. By train, the reference station is Asti, from which you can continue by car or local transport.
During the event, a free shuttle service operates from three collection points (Premes, sports facilities, and the Cantina Sociale). The service runs on Friday and Saturday from 6:00 PM to midnight and on Sunday from 11:00 AM to midnight. Limited parking is also available in the town center.
Admission to cultural trails is free; food and wine stations operate on a pay-as-you-go basis. Evening openings are scheduled for Friday and Saturday from 6:00 PM to midnight, while on Sunday the festival runs from 11:00 AM to midnight.
