Anterivo Summer Evenings

The Anterivo Summer Evenings, known in German as Voltruier Sommerabende, are a summer event series that brings life and joy to the heart of Anterivo/Altrei, a tiny village of just 397 inhabitants perched at 1,209 meters above sea level on the slopes of Monte Corno. Located within the nature park of the same name, Anterivo is the only German-speaking town in the Val di Fiemme and belongs to the autonomous province of Bolzano, in Trentino-Alto Adige.

On select Fridays between June and August, the village Cultural Hall becomes a meeting point for residents and guests to spend an evening dedicated to taste and conviviality. Each event is organized by a different local association — the Anglers' Association, the South Tyrolean Women Farmers' Organization, the Youth Group, and the Brass Band — who take turns in the kitchen and hosting, giving each evening its own unique character and menu.

What to expect

The theme is simple and authentic: local culinary specialties prepared by the associations, accompanied by live music and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. Offerings range from mixed fried fish to platters of local cold cuts and delicacies, as well as homemade desserts, while bands and artists perform to get the crowd dancing and singing. The evenings begin at 7:30 PM.

More than just a structured festival, the Voltruier Sommerabende are an expression of community life in a small mountain village: an authentic way to get to know the traditions, flavors, and people of Anterivo, a place also famous for the cultivation of lupine, from which the characteristic "Anterivo coffee" is made.

Where it takes place

The events are held at the Anterivo Cultural Hall, in the municipality of Anterivo/Altrei (province of Bolzano). The village can be reached by traveling up the valley from Ora/Auer or from the Val di Fiemme, nestled in the protected landscape of the Monte Corno Nature Park.
