About Amore per l'Abruzzo

Every summer, Tortoreto on the Teramo coast shines bright with the Amore per l'Abruzzo Award, a recognition established in 1998 to honor those who champion the region's name in Italy and across the globe. At the Rotonda Carducci on the seafront, a gala evening celebrates twenty outstanding figures in art, sports, business, media, and culture, featuring live music, heartfelt testimonials, and a large, enthusiastic audience.

The award that says thank you to Abruzzo

The Amore per l'Abruzzo Award is one of the most anticipated events of the summer in Tortoreto, a seaside town in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo. Established in 1998 by the Associazione Società Civile, the award has a clear mission: to pay tribute to those who contribute to the prestige of the Abruzzo region, whether by living and working locally or by showcasing Abruzzo's identity and talent throughout Italy and the world.

A gala evening on the seafront

The ceremony takes place at the Rotonda Carducci, along the picturesque Lungomare Sirena in Tortoreto Lido, in a summer setting that blends the glamour of an awards show with the charm of the Adriatic Riviera. Each year, the spotlight shines on approximately twenty Abruzzo excellences, selected from the worlds of art, sports, entrepreneurship, communication, and culture. The stage hosts established artists, national-level athletes, entrepreneurs, entertainment professionals, and figures whose work has made Abruzzo known far beyond its regional borders.

Music, memory, and community

The evening is more than just a ceremony: it weaves together awards with live concerts and musical performances, turning the Rotonda Carducci into a grand stage overlooking the sea. There are also commemorative tributes to historic figures of Abruzzo and national music, such as singer-songwriter and guitarist Ivan Graziani and maestro Nino Dale (Francesco D'Alessandro), founder of the orchestra bearing his name, remembered through the presence of their families.

A staple of the Tortoreto summer

With over twenty years of history, the Amore per l'Abruzzo Award has become a defining event for the town. It is part of the rich Tortoreto summer program promoted by the Municipality, which includes food festivals, concerts, shows, and cultural events. The artistic direction is curated by artist Francesca Martinelli, while the municipal administration supports the event with the direct involvement of the mayor and the culture department. Admission is free: an opportunity for residents and tourists to share Abruzzo pride on a warm summer night on the Teramo coast.

Amore per l'Abruzzo — edition 2026

The 22nd edition of the Amore per l'Abruzzo Award takes place in Tortoreto Lido on August 1-2, 2026, at the Rotonda Carducci. Two evenings dedicated to Abruzzo's finest, featuring an opening concert and the grand awards ceremony that will light up the Teramo coast with twenty protagonists from art, sports, business, media, and culture.

22nd edition — August 1 and 2, 2026

The Amore per l'Abruzzo Award returns to Tortoreto Lido for its 22nd edition, scheduled for Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the Rotonda Carducci. The event, organized by the Associazione Società Civile under the artistic direction of Francesca Martinelli, confirms the successful format that has made it a staple of the Tortoreto summer.

The first evening opens with a musical focus, while the second culminates in the awards ceremony, when Tortoreto "shines with stars" as it honors approximately twenty Abruzzo excellences from the worlds of art, sports, business, media, and culture. As per tradition, the evening also includes commemorative tributes to great figures of Abruzzo and national music, including Ivan Graziani and Nino Dale.

The event is part of the official 2026 summer program of the Municipality of Tortoreto, promoted by Mayor Domenico Piccioni and Culture Councilor Giorgio Ripani. Admission is free.
