Alpini in Festa: the conviviality of the 'black feathers' in Domodossola

Alpini in Festa is one of the most cherished events of the Ossola summer. Every year in early June, the Prateria Festival Grounds, located in the Nosere region of Domodossola—in the heart of the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola province in Piedmont—hosts a three-day celebration organized by the "Ten. Gianfranco Polli" Alpini Group of the Domodossola section of the National Alpini Association.

An atmosphere of friendship and alpine tradition

The event embodies the authentic spirit of the Alpini: hospitality, simplicity, and a sense of togetherness. Under the large marquee at the Prateria, families, friends, and enthusiasts gather to share evenings filled with music, great food, and conviviality. The festival is also an opportunity to celebrate the strong bond between the Alpini and the Ossola territory, a land defined by its mountains, history, and commitment to solidarity.

Music, dancing, and games

The program features a mix of musical moments and entertainment for all ages:

The kitchen: the heart of the festival

The star of the show is the alpine cuisine, prepared by the group's volunteers. The food stand offers grilled specialties, sausages, tripe, fries, and traditional Ossola dishes, all paired with beer and fine wine. Service is available in the evenings, and on Sundays, also for lunch—a perfect opportunity to enjoy genuine mountain flavors in good company.

Safety and solidarity

The Alpine Rescue (Delegation X Valdossola) is present throughout the event, reflecting the Alpini's dedication to safety and care for the territory. In case of bad weather, the festival takes place indoors.

Alpini in Festa is much more than just a food festival: it is a community moment that tells the story of the values of Domodossola and the entire Ossola valley. Between a barbecue, a dance, and a laugh, the Prateria in the Nosere region becomes the meeting point for the whole valley for three days.
