Albano Estate – Theatre and Music Under the Stars is the cultural festival that brings Piazza Sabatini to life every July. Located behind the "Mario Antonacci" Civic Museum in Albano Laziale, within the Metropolitan City of Rome, the event is promoted by the Department of Culture, Tourism, and Entertainment of the Municipality of Albano Laziale in collaboration with the Civic Museum. It offers a series of free evenings featuring theatre, music, and entertainment in the heart of the Castelli Romani.

Piazza Sabatini overlooks one of the most evocative panoramic views in the city, transforming into an open-air stage during the summer. Performances start at 9:00 PM and admission is always free with no reservation required: a perfect opportunity to enjoy summer evenings with families, residents, and visitors, soaking in the intimate and convivial atmosphere of the Colli Albani villages.

The 2026 Program

The 2026 edition features ten evenings, from July 4th to 26th, alternating between plays, singer-songwriter music, tributes, and comedy:

• July 10 – "Roma che non conosci", with Fosca, Stefano Indino, and Luigi Maio
• July 11 – "Caro Carosello", with Clara Costanzo
• July 12 – "Arakne: La Tela del Destino", by Francesco Traversi
• July 17 – Queen Project, Queen tribute band
• July 18 – ABBA Celebration, ABBA tribute
• July 19 – Cabaret night with Fabrizio Gaetani and Marco Capretti
• July 24 – "Le Donne di Califano", with Beba Albanesi
• July 25 – "Candlelight – Omaggio a Renato Zero", with Daniele Si Nasce
• July 26 – "Vita da Night Club", featuring theatre, live music, and dance

The strength of Albano Estate lies in its variety: alongside theatrical performances, there is space for major tributes to pop and singer-songwriter music, from Queen to ABBA, as well as homages to Franco Califano and Renato Zero, not to mention comedy and dance. The program is designed to appeal to diverse tastes and make live culture accessible to all.

Albano Laziale and the Castelli Romani

A city of ancient origins, Albano Laziale preserves significant Roman heritage and is located a short distance from Lake Albano and Castel Gandolfo. The summer festival is part of the Castelli Romani tradition of enjoying public squares during the warmer months, combining entertainment, social life, and the promotion of the historic centre.
