Two days of live music in the heart of San Vigilio di Marebbe, featuring folk, world music, and a commitment to charity.
The Al Plan Folk Festival is one of the most distinctive musical events in San Vigilio di Marebbe (Municipality of Marebbe/Enneberg), located in the heart of Val Badia, in the province of Bolzano, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. For two days, the town center becomes a vibrant meeting place where live music blends with the alpine atmosphere of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site that frames the entire event.
The festival brings together bands and artists from near and far, with a deliberately eclectic lineup ranging from folk to rock'n'roll, ska to funk, as well as indie, hip hop, and world music. It is not just about concerts: the festival also features theatre and acrobatic performances, along with entertainment for children, ensuring fun for audiences of all ages.
One of the hallmarks of the Al Plan Folk Festival is its deeply accessible and charitable nature: admission and camping are free, while a portion of the proceeds is donated to humanitarian projects. Since its inception, the event has cultivated a strong environmental awareness, positioning itself as a low-impact, sustainable festival in harmony with its natural surroundings.
Set in one of the most picturesque locations in the Plan de Corones area, the festival offers a chance to experience San Vigilio di Marebbe beyond its traditional reputation for sports and skiing. The main festival area is covered, allowing the festivities to continue even in bad weather—a valuable feature in a mountain region where conditions can change rapidly. Visitors to Val Badia will find a unique blend of music, nature, and Ladin hospitality that makes the Al Plan Folk Festival a highlight of the South Tyrolean summer season.
