Airport Carnival – Ronco

A Tradition Since 1968

The Airport Carnival is one of the most deeply rooted events in the social fabric of Forlì, in the heart of the province of Forlì-Cesena, in Emilia-Romagna. It takes its name from the area of the city airport and takes place in the Ronco district, along Via Carlo Seganti, with its meeting point at the Parish of Santa Rita. Founded in 1968, it's an event that spans generations: those who accompany their children to see the floats today are often the same children who, decades ago, ran behind the masks along these same streets.

The Parade of Floats

The heart of the festival is the parade of floats and costumed groups that crosses the Ronco district, bringing masks, music, and colors. The floats, built with passion by neighborhood volunteers, are accompanied by costumed groups, confetti, and a soundtrack that resonates along the entire route. It's a celebration designed primarily for children and families, who can spend an afternoon filled with joy.

Music, Food, and Fun

In addition to the parade, the Airport Carnival offers DJ sets, live concerts, dance performances, and a rich gastronomic offering in the parish spaces, with local specialties and typical Carnival sweets. There's also the traditional charity raffle, very popular with the little ones.

A Neighborhood Carnival in Forlì's Calendar

The event is part of the «I Quartieri in Festa» (The Neighborhoods Celebrate) program, which brings together the carnivals of Forlì's various districts in a schedule of events for all ages. The Airport Carnival, with its long history, is one of its cornerstones: an example of how a popular and parish-based dimension can create an identity festival capable of engaging the entire city.
