The Easter Monday run through the Sizzano DOC vineyards
The Agritourism Walk through the Hills – Gamba d'Oro is one of the most beloved Easter Monday events in Sizzano, a small town in the Province of Novara, Piedmont. For over half a century, every Easter Monday, the village fills with walkers and runners choosing to spend the holiday in the open air, among the vineyard-covered hills surrounding the town.
The event was born from a simple and winning idea: combining sport with the discovery of the local area. The hills of Sizzano are, in fact, the realm of Sizzano DOC, a red wine made mainly from Nebbiolo grapes (locally called Spanna) and native vines of Northern Piedmont. Walking through these vineyards means crossing an authentic rural landscape, made of rows of vines, farmhouses, and country roads.
The walk offers two tracks designed to satisfy everyone:
It is a non-competitive run open to everyone, from experienced runners to casual walkers, who can tackle the route at their own pace, enjoying the view and the colors of the Novara spring.
The event is part of the Gamba d'Oro circuit, the historic calendar of non-competitive walks and runs that crosses the provinces of Novara, Vercelli, Biella, and surroundings, enlivening Piedmontese weekends for most of the year. Being part of the circuit means attracting enthusiasts from all over the territory to Sizzano, who find here a familiar and welcoming atmosphere.
Along the route and at the finish line, refreshment points are set up by the Pro Loco, offering simple and genuine local products. Sizzano is also known for its agritourisms and wineries, where at the end of the walk it is easy to be tempted by traditional Novara cuisine and a glass of Sizzano DOC. It is precisely this combination of outdoor movement, conviviality, and local flavors that makes the walk a classic of Easter Monday in Piedmont.

Il tracciato principale, di circa 10 km tra strade di campagna e colli coltivati a vigneto, è stato affiancato dal consueto minigiro più breve per famiglie e bambini.
