About Agriculture Festival

In Caderzone Terme, in the green heart of Val Rendena, the Agriculture Festival has been celebrating rural life and the prized Rendena cattle breed for nearly thirty years. For three days, on the Runchidin plain at the foot of Maso Curio, cows and tractors parade, traditional haymaking and scythe tournaments are re-enacted, and visitors can explore the agricultural park, enjoy polenta carbonera, and experience local products, concerts, markets, and the traditional closing bonfire. A signature event of the Alpine Trentino region.

A festival in the green heart of Val Rendena

The Agriculture Festival in Caderzone Terme, located in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige), is the most anticipated summer celebration of rural life in the Val Rendena. Every year, during the first week of August, the Runchidin plain, at the foot of the historic Maso Curio, transforms into a large open-air stage dedicated to rural traditions, ancient crafts, and the prized Rendena cattle breed, native to this valley nestled beneath the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello massif.

The Rendena breed and farming traditions

The central theme of the event is the Rendena breed, a rustic dairy cow typical of the valley, which takes center stage in a grand parade through the village alongside tractors, wagons, and farming families. This livestock heritage is the heart of a rich program that brings past agricultural life back to the present: hand-haymaking in the agricultural park, the traditional scythe tournament now in its fifth year, cheese-making demonstrations with local producers, and educational tours guided by the Adamello Brenta Nature Park.

Gastronomy and local products

The festival is also a journey through the flavors of Val Rendena. Large themed dinners highlight every evening: the rustic Friday dinner featuring local produce, the Saturday dinner with polenta and meat, and above all, the famous Sunday polenta carbonera dinner, served in hundreds of portions. There are also markets showcasing handicrafts and local products, from mountain dairy cheeses to local cured meats.

Music, games, and the final bonfire

Traditions are complemented by entertainment and conviviality: concerts by musical groups and bands, folk performances, country music, traditional games, creative workshops, and activities for children, including pony rides. The event concludes each year with a spectacular bonfire in front of Maso Curio and a dance party that brings thousands of people together.

A signature event of the Trentino region

Organized by the Pro Loco of Caderzone Terme, the Agriculture Festival kicks off the season of agricultural festivals in Val Rendena and is considered a benchmark for enthusiasts of local traditions. Set in an Alpine village known as the "health town" and a Touring Club Orange Flag recipient, it blends rural authenticity, pristine nature, and mountain hospitality.
