The road race with an age factor in Branzoll
The AgeFactor Run is one of the most unique running events in South Tyrol. Every autumn, the municipality of Branzoll, in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano (Trentino-Alto Adige), hosts this 10 km road race with a distinctive twist: each runner's actual time is multiplied by an age factor, a coefficient that varies based on their year of birth. The result is a ranking that puts younger runners and more mature athletes on the same level, rewarding performance quality relative to one's age group rather than absolute speed.
The competitive race covers 10 kilometers, with the start and finish line at the Kulturhaus Branzoll, the town's cultural center and the logistical heart of the event. Alongside the timed race, the Memorial Andrea Isoppo takes place—a 5 km "Fit for Fun" non-competitive walk/run dedicated to the memory of the organizing club's historic president. It is open to all, requires no competitive medical certificate, and is designed for families, enthusiasts, and those who want to enjoy the atmosphere without the pressure of the clock. Every participant receives a prize at the finish line, while the top-ranked men and women take the podium.
The AgeFactor Run is not an isolated event: it represents the final stage of the Top7, the South Tyrolean running circuit that visits various locations across the province throughout the season. In Branzoll, following the final race, the circuit's overall awards ceremony takes place, crowning the winners of the general classification. This makes the race a key gathering point for the entire regional running community, which meets in this small town in the Bassa Atesina.
The event is organized by S.V. Branzoll (USD Bronzolo), the local sports club, which manages the hospitality, logistics, and relations with the running associations of Trentino-Alto Adige. Established in 2017, the race has solidified itself over the years as a classic end-of-season event, capable of attracting hundreds of athletes from across the province and the neighboring Trentino to Branzoll for a day that combines sport, community, and the bilingual charm of this corner of South Tyrol.
The 9th edition of the AgeFactor Run is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Branzoll. Bib distribution is planned at the Kulturhaus Branzoll from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, while the start of the 10 km competitive race is set for 3:00 PM. The ranking is compiled by multiplying each athlete's actual time by their age factor. Alongside the timed race, the Memorial Andrea Isoppo takes place, a 5 km non-competitive walk/run open to everyone. The top 25 men and women are awarded, and every participant receives a prize at the finish line. The AgeFactor Run is the final stage of the South Tyrol Top7 circuit and hosts the final general classification awards ceremony.
Start and finish at the Kulturhaus Branzoll, in Branzoll (Province of Bolzano), Postal Code 39051.
