A tour through eight villages in the San Lorenzo Valley, amidst nature, wellness, and the flavors of the Imperia hinterland
8 Borghi in Festa nella Valle San Lorenzo (also known as Expo Valle San Lorenzo) is a widespread event involving eight villages from five municipalities in the hinterland of Imperia: San Lorenzo al Mare, Cipressa, Civezza, Costarainera, Pietrabruna, and their hamlets of Torre Paponi, Lingueglietta, and Boscomare. It's not a single location, but an entire territory showcasing itself, inviting visitors on an itinerary through villages, landscapes, and traditions.
The 2026 edition carries the theme 'Nature and Wellness' and offers a program spread across the villages: tastings of local products, music, theater, and exhibitions, in a format that promotes slow tourism and the rediscovery of the Riviera dei Fiori's hinterland. Organized by the Riviere di Liguria Chamber of Commerce, the event aims to extend the tourist season and promote an area rich in olive trees, trails, and ancient villages.
8 Borghi in Festa is an ideal opportunity to explore the San Lorenzo Valley on foot or by car, moving from one village to another and experiencing each with its unique characteristics. Lingueglietta with its fortress-church, Civezza and its alleys, Cipressa and its olive hills: each stop tells a part of the identity of western Liguria, during a time of year—the beginning of spring—perfect for discovering a hinterland away from the main tourist crowds.
The 2026 edition, the third, takes place from April 4 to 6, involving the eight villages of the San Lorenzo Valley. The theme 'Nature and Wellness' guides a program distributed among the villages, with food and wine, cultural, and musical events designed to showcase the hinterland of Imperia.
The detailed program, village by village, will be distributed by the organizers in the preceding days.
The villages of the San Lorenzo Valley are located in the hinterland between San Lorenzo al Mare and Imperia. By car, take the A10 highway exit for San Lorenzo al Mare or Imperia Ovest, then head towards the villages. The nearest train station is San Lorenzo al Mare.
The event is spread across multiple villages: it's advisable to get the program to plan your itinerary. Free entry to events; tastings are paid. A detailed program will be distributed by the organizers in the days leading up to the event.
