The new half marathon of Bassa Romagna, between Solarolo, Castel Bolognese and Bagnara di Romagna
The 21K City of Solarolo – Roberta Colombo Memorial is the new half marathon of Solarolo, a small municipality in the province of Ravenna, in Emilia-Romagna. The first edition was held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, and was immediately hailed by the local press as a record-breaking debut: streets filled with colors, t-shirts, and enthusiasm, and a success that far exceeded the organizers' expectations.
The race is organized by Tè Bota Team, a Romagna running club, with the patronage of the Municipality of Solarolo and the support of UISP and numerous local associations. It is one of the new classics on the Romagna running calendar, in an area—Bassa Romagna—that boasts a great tradition of walks and road races.
The event is more than just a race; it was created to honor the memory of Roberta Colombo, a local resident of Solarolo and a passionate runner who passed away too soon. The "Memorial" that bears her name combines sport with remembrance, transforming a Sunday in March into a community moment that involves the entire town.
The 21K City of Solarolo offers three formats to suit everyone, from competitive athletes to families:
The course starts from the center of Solarolo, from Corso Mazzini, and winds through the Romagna countryside, passing through the municipality of Castel Bolognese, with a picturesque passage by the Mulino Scodellino, and crossing the historic center of Bagnara di Romagna, one of Italy's most beautiful villages. The return and finish are set in Piazza Garibaldi, in the heart of Solarolo, amidst the public and local associations.
A predominantly flat and fast route, ideal for those seeking a good time over the distance, but also for those who want to discover the landscapes of the Ravenna plain and its small historic centers while running.
