Four days of reggae, dub, and sound system culture by the Verginese lakes
Zion Station Festival is one of the leading events in Italy for fans of reggae, dub music, and sound system culture. Established in 2011, the festival takes place every summer at the Agriturismo Ai Due Laghi del Verginese, on Via Bargellesi in Gambulaga, a hamlet of the Municipality of Portomaggiore, in the lowlands of the province of Ferrara, in Emilia-Romagna. Four days of live music, vinyl selections, and immersion in nature between two lakes, a swimming pool, and a countryside oasis.
The festival's unique feature is its division into two complementary areas. The Lake Yard is dedicated to daytime hours: relaxation by the lake, afternoon sets, swimming pool sessions, and outdoor activities. The Night Yard, on the other hand, is the event's nocturnal heart, where international sound systems liven up the evenings until late at night with dub, roots reggae, and steppers. This dual nature makes Zion Station an experience that goes far beyond a concert, approaching a true gathering of the European dub community.
Over the years, Zion Station has hosted some of the most important names in the global sound system scene, welcoming selectors, operators, and artists from the United Kingdom, Jamaica, and all over Europe. The festival is appreciated for the quality of its sound systems, the careful programming, and the welcoming, family-like atmosphere, faithful to the values of peace, sharing, and Rasta culture that characterize the reggae scene.
Alongside the musical program, Zion Station Festival offers numerous collateral activities designed for families and those seeking a complete experience:
The setting at Due Laghi del Verginese, a few kilometers from Portomaggiore and the famous Delizia Estense del Verginese, provides Zion Station with a rural and tranquil backdrop, far from the city but easily accessible. For the Municipality of Portomaggiore and the entire province of Ferrara, the festival represents a now-established event that attracts an affectionate and international audience each year, contributing to the valorization of the lowlands of Emilia.
The fourteenth edition of Zion Station Festival takes place from Thursday, July 2nd to Sunday, July 5th, 2026, at Due Laghi del Verginese, in Gambulaga di Portomaggiore. A rich program of international sound systems and dub and roots reggae selections, accompanied by the usual daytime activities by the lake and the nighttime sessions in the Night Yard.
In addition to the concerts, the 2026 edition offers afternoon sets at the Lake Yard, pool sessions, themed workshops, craft markets, wellness areas, and gastronomic offerings with food trucks and local products from the Ferrara region. Camping and overnight stays at the agriturismo are available.
The 2026 program unfolds over the four days with big names from the international sound system scene:
The daytime sets at Lake Yard are curated by, among others, Heavy Rootation, Beatdown Sound, Tiberias Towa, Jah Lion, Mafia & Fluxy, and Jah Observer, with the closing session in the pool area.
The festival takes place at Agriturismo Ai Due Laghi del Verginese, in Via Bargellesi 2 in Gambulaga, a hamlet of Portomaggiore (FE). By car, it is easily reached from the Strada Statale 16 Adriatica and the Ferrara-Mare junction. The nearest train station is Portomaggiore, connected to Ferrara.
Day tickets and multi-day passes are available, sold online on the official ticketing platform indicated by the organizers. Advance purchase is recommended.
It is possible to stay overnight at the agriturismo or use the camping area: a convenient solution to fully enjoy the four days of the festival. Comfortable clothing, swimwear for the pool and lakes, and sunscreen for daytime activities are recommended.
