The premier urban dance and hip hop culture contest in Rome
The YO! Urban Dance Fest โ also known as YoFestival โ is one of the most anticipated events on the Italian urban dance scene. Every year, the event draws thousands of dancers and fans to Rome, the capital of the Lazio region, for a full day dedicated to hip hop, street dance, and all its variations. The event takes place at the Auditorium del Massimo, located at Via Massimiliano Massimo 1 in the EUR district: an exceptional venue capable of hosting over two thousand people, including competitors and spectators.
The heart of the festival is the choreographic contest, a competition that brings together crews and soloists from all over the country. The categories cover a wide age range, from the youngest Under 10s to Over 18s, allowing entire dance schools to perform on the same stage. Competitions include crew contests (from Mini Kids to Maxi Crews), duo contests, and style-specific categories such as All Style and Heels. Performances are judged by an international jury of professionals, who award the title of the year and recognition in the various sections.
Surrounding the competition is a rich program of events that showcase hip hop culture in its entirety: freestyle battles, break dance battles, workshops, and breathtaking performances animate the stage throughout the day. It is an opportunity for young dancers to challenge themselves, learn from experts, and experience being part of a passionate and ever-growing community.
With over twenty editions under its belt, YoFestival has established itself as one of the leading urban dance events in Central Italy. The format, which alternates a morning show reserved for Under 18 categories with an afternoon show dedicated to Over 18s and the All Style and Heels categories, allows space for everyone without sacrificing the fast-paced rhythm of a true competition. For many schools in Rome and the rest of Italy, it represents a prestigious testing ground and an important showcase to get noticed.
The 23rd edition of the YO! Urban Dance Fest confirmed the festival as one of the major events in Italian urban dance. At the Auditorium del Massimo, in Rome's EUR district, over 2,000 dancers competed before an audience of more than 1,400 spectators to win the 2026 title in various categories, from crew contests to duos, as well as All Style and Heels.
The day was divided into two shows:
The competition sections included crew contests (from Mini Kids to Maxi Crews), duo contests (Under 13, Under 17, and Open), and the Solo Heels category. The program was enriched by freestyle battles, break dance battles, and workshops.
Performances were evaluated by an international jury of professionals, including Steve, Salomon, Clara, Mikel, Livia, and Andrea Attila, each specializing in different style categories.
Numerous schools from all over Italy stood out on stage. Among the notable results, the Street Dance Fresh 'n' Clean School from Imperia won two first places (Senior category with the Fresh 'n' Clean Junior group and Kids category with Kids Gone Funk), confirming the national reach of the event.
