The regularity race for historic cars across the snowy passes of the Dolomites
WinteRace Cortina is one of the most evocative regularity races for historic cars in Italy. Every March, cars built between the 1930s and the present day parade through the snowy Dolomite passes, based in the center of Cortina d'Ampezzo, in the province of Belluno. The event is organized by the "Giannino Marzotto" Veneto Vintage Car and Motorcycle Club, awarded the 2025 Manovella d'Oro (Golden Crankshaft).
The route, exceeding 450 kilometers, crosses some of the most famous Dolomite passes: Passo Giau, Falzarego, Pordoi, Gardena, reaching Alta Badia, Val di Fassa, and Lake Misurina. Dozens of timed and average speed trials test the precision of the crews, combining sport, driving technique, and spectacular scenery.
WinteRace is not just a competition; it's a celebration of automotive culture and elegance, with an Icon section dedicated to the most representative modern cars. The setting of Cortina d'Ampezzo, the capital of the Venetian Dolomites, makes each edition a unique event in the vintage car calendar.
The WinteRace Cortina 2026 was held from Thursday, March 19th to Saturday, March 21st, with a total route of over 490 kilometers and 68 trials combining timed and average speed. Approximately 70 cars, divided between historic cars (from 1935) and models from the Icon section, enlivened the event organized by the "Giannino Marzotto" Veneto Vintage Car and Motorcycle Club. The edition, included in the calendar of events with an Olympic spirit due to its proximity to Milan Cortina 2026, traversed the most iconic Dolomite passes.
Cortina d'Ampezzo is reachable by car via the SS51 Alemagna road. During the race, the cars pass through the center and the mountain passes: transit points and start times are published in the official program.
The event is free for the public along the route and in the center of Cortina. Exact dates and times are available on the website of the "Giannino Marzotto" Veneto Vintage Car and Motorcycle Club.
