The Walking Festival Jazz is a celebration of itinerant jazz music that fills the summer nights of Tocco da Casauria, a village in the province of Pescara, in the heart of Abruzzo, with melody. The festival follows a 'diffused' format: rather than a single stage, the event brings live music directly into the squares, alleys, and most picturesque spots of the historic center, inviting the audience to wander from one point to another, following the thread of the performances. Tocco da Casauria sits on a hill at an altitude of about 356 meters, at the foot of Mount Morrone, in the evocative Pescara Valley and at the entrance to the Majella National Park. The town is also famous for being the birthplace of the painter Francesco Paolo Michetti and for the production of Centerba, the traditional herbal liqueur of the Majella.
