Three days of cycling, travel, and inclusion in the Roman amphitheater of Castelleone di Suasa
W! Viva Festival is one of the most original events in the Italian cycle tourism scene. Born from the passion of Cicliste per Caso โ travelers Silvia Gottardi and Linda Ronzoni โ the festival brings three days dedicated to cycling, slow travel, and gender issues to Castelleone di Suasa, a small town in the province of Ancona. The setting is the evocative Roman amphitheater of the Archaeological Park of Suasa, one of the most important archaeological sites in the Marche region.
The heart of the event consists of talks and meetings with female cyclists, journalists, industry professionals, activists, and creators who share their experiences in Italy and abroad. Topics include cycle tourism, major Italian and European cycle routes, daily mobility, LGBTQIA+ rights, how to prepare for a bike trip, and sport as a tool for social inclusion. Alongside the talks, there are technical workshops, shows, musical moments with DJ sets, and yoga and stretching sessions.
The festival's highlight is the W! Gravel Ride, a cycling event that crosses the Val Mivola and the Castles of Arcevia, passing through villages and landscapes of the Marche hinterland. Two routes are planned: a regular of about 60 km with 1,150 meters of elevation gain and a refreshment stop, and a long of about 86 km with 1,770 meters of elevation gain and two refreshment stops. Gravel bikes, mountain bikes, and e-bikes are allowed, with rental options available on-site. Registration includes a GPX track, refreshments, mechanical assistance, and a welcome bag.
W! Viva Festival is not an event exclusively for women; it is an occasion open to anyone who wants to experience cycling as a tool for freedom, equality, and sustainability. Throughout the event, food and beverage areas, camping areas, and exhibition spaces for partners are set up. The philosophy is one of welcome and participation, in continuous dialogue between sport, culture, and civil engagement.
Hosting the festival in a Roman amphitheater perfectly reflects the project's spirit: uniting heritage, landscape, and community. Castelleone di Suasa, nestled in the rolling hills of the province of Ancona in the Marche region, offers participants the chance to discover an authentic territory, far from the most beaten tourist paths, ideal for exploring by bicycle.
From June 19 to 21, 2026, the Roman amphitheater of Castelleone di Suasa hosts the fourth edition of W! Viva Festival, conceived by Cicliste per Caso. Three days of talks, technical workshops, yoga sessions, shows, and musical moments with DJ sets, all with free admission.
The program brings together female cyclists, journalists, and activists to share stories of travels, cycle routes, and mobility from a gender perspective. Among the announced speakers are Monica Consolini, Susanna Maggioni, Caterina Zanirato, Eva Sassi Croce, and Federica Brondoni, as well as Paola Giglio for lighter moments.
The ride offers two routes in the Val Mivola and among the Castles of Arcevia: a regular of about 60 km (1,150 m D+) and a long of about 86 km (1,770 m D+). Registration includes GPX track, refreshments, mechanical assistance, and a welcome bag. Food areas, camping, and exhibitors are available throughout the event.
Castelleone di Suasa is located in the hinterland of the province of Ancona. By car, it can be reached from the A14 highway exit at Senigallia, continuing along the Cesano Valley. The nearest train station is Senigallia, from which you can continue by car or local transport.
Access to talks, workshops, and shows is free. Participation in the W! Gravel Ride requires online registration on the official Cicliste per Caso website.
A camping area with tents is set up during the festival; vans and campers are welcome. Alternatively, there are farm stays (agriturismi) and accommodation facilities in the Cesano Valley and on the Ancona coast.
