A village festival that does good

Volontariamente in Festa is one of the most heartfelt summer events in Morfasso, a small mountain municipality in the province of Piacenza, nestled in the woods of the Alta Val d'Arda at over 600 meters above sea level. The event takes place in the heart of the village, in Piazza Tenente Pietro Inzani, and combines two things that always go hand in hand in Morfasso: the conviviality of an evening in the square and the desire to help those in need.

Who organizes and why

The evening is promoted by the Avis section of Morfasso and the Pubblica Assistenza Croce Verde Morfasso, two volunteer organizations deeply rooted in the local community, with the patronage of the Municipality of Morfasso. All proceeds from the festival are donated to charity, to support the activities of local associations: from blood donation to rescue and assistance. It is one of those occasions where having fun and doing good become the same thing.

What the evening is like

The formula is the tried-and-tested one of the village festivals of the Emilia Apennines, simple and welcoming. It starts around 7:30 PM with the welcome aperitif, a toast among friends to kick off the evening. It continues with the dinner, served at tables set up in the square, and concludes with DJ music, which keeps people of all ages dancing until night. In past editions, the menu has featured dishes that have become a classic of the festival, such as paella from Taberna Movida and risotto, also in a gluten-free version, always accompanied by desserts prepared by volunteers.

Morfasso and the Alta Val d'Arda

Participating in Volontariamente in Festa is also an excellent excuse to discover Morfasso and its territory. The village is part of the Union of Mountain Municipalities of Alta Val d'Arda and is an ideal starting point for excursions through the woods, stone hamlets, and panoramas of the Piacenza Apennines. In summer, the village comes alive with festivals, fairs, and celebrations that tell the story of a mountain community proud of its traditions and its spirit of solidarity.
