Wednesday evening ballroom dancing along the Trebbia river in Rivergaro
In the heart of the Trebbia Valley summer, in Rivergaro (province of Piacenza, Emilia-Romagna), the Balera del Trebbia returns every year, the event dedicated to ballroom dancing that accompanies Wednesday evenings from mid-June to early September. The event takes place at the Area festa del Parco degli Alpini, an outdoor dance floor overlooking the Trebbia river, where dancers of all ages gather for waltzes, mazurkas, polkas, and tangos.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco Tramballando of Rivergaro, an association that has enlivened the cultural and popular life of the town for over twenty years. La Balera del Trebbia is one of the most beloved initiatives of the local summer: a simple and genuine proposal, built around live music and the pleasure of being together. The evenings start at 9:15 PM and continue until late, with the classic bar and refreshment service.
The heart of the event are the dance music orchestras, which alternate on stage week after week. Some of the best-known names in Emilian and Romagnolo liscio perform on the Rivergaro stage, from Beppe Maccagni to Ringo Story, from Daniele Cordani to Michela Giordano, up to the Macho Band and Athos Bassissi. It's a repertoire that speaks the language of the dance halls of the Po Valley, made up of unmistakable rhythms and a loyal audience that returns every week.
The natural setting of the Trebbia River Park makes the Balera even more suggestive: the dance floor is just a few steps from the water, in a green and tranquil environment typical of the Trebbia Valley. The event is also an opportunity to discover Rivergaro and its riverfront, a traditional destination for Piacenza residents' summer outings.
Balera del Trebbia 2026 takes place every Wednesday from June 17 to September 9, starting at 9:15 PM at the Parco degli Alpini festival area in Rivergaro. Thirteen evenings of live dance music, organized by Pro Loco Tramballando, liven up the riverfront with orchestras and bands from the Emilian and Romagnolo liscio tradition. Admission is charged.
Rivergaro is located in the Trebbia Valley, about 20 km south of Piacenza, along the state road 45 (PiacenzaโGenoa). The festival area at Parco degli Alpini is located near the Trebbia riverfront.
The dance evenings are held every Wednesday from 9:15 PM. Admission is charged. Bar and refreshment service is available during the evenings.
The event is organized by Pro Loco Tramballando of Rivergaro.
