About Val Tidone Festival

The Val Tidone Festival is one of the most beloved music events in the Piacenza Apennines: every summer it brings jazz, singer-songwriter music, soul, and classical music to the squares, castles, and most picturesque locations of Val Tidone and Val Luretta. In Gragnano Trebbiense, in the province of Piacenza, events animate Piazza Verdi and the hamlet of Campremoldo Sotto with free admission concerts, in a widespread program that each year involves a dozen municipalities and dozens of Italian and international artists.

The Val Tidone Festival in Gragnano Trebbiense

The Val Tidone Festival is a travelling music review that has lit up the summer of the villages of Val Tidone and Val Luretta, in the province of Piacenza (Emilia-Romagna), since the late nineties. Organized by the Fondazione Val Tidone Musica with the support of the Fondazione di Piacenza e Vigevano, the festival distributes its concerts among a dozen municipalities in the valley, transforming squares, churches, castles, and courtyards into open-air stages. The Municipality of Gragnano Trebbiense is one of the recurring stops on the calendar, with events in Piazza Verdi, in the main town, and in the charming hamlet of Campremoldo Sotto.

A widespread review in the heart of Piacenza

The Val Tidone Festival's formula combines artistic excellence with a strong focus on the territory: alongside established names on the national and international scene, there is space for young talents awarded at the Val Tidone International Music Competitions, the music competition linked to the Foundation. The artistic direction is entrusted to Livio Bollani. The program ranges from jazz to Italian singer-songwriter music, from soul to classical music, with tributes to great songwriters and original projects designed for the venues that host them.
