Great music in the villages of Val Tidone, taking place in Gragnano Trebbiense
The Val Tidone Festival is a travelling music review that has lit up the summer of the villages of Val Tidone and Val Luretta, in the province of Piacenza (Emilia-Romagna), since the late nineties. Organized by the Fondazione Val Tidone Musica with the support of the Fondazione di Piacenza e Vigevano, the festival distributes its concerts among a dozen municipalities in the valley, transforming squares, churches, castles, and courtyards into open-air stages. The Municipality of Gragnano Trebbiense is one of the recurring stops on the calendar, with events in Piazza Verdi, in the main town, and in the charming hamlet of Campremoldo Sotto.
The Val Tidone Festival's formula combines artistic excellence with a strong focus on the territory: alongside established names on the national and international scene, there is space for young talents awarded at the Val Tidone International Music Competitions, the music competition linked to the Foundation. The artistic direction is entrusted to Livio Bollani. The program ranges from jazz to Italian singer-songwriter music, from soul to classical music, with tributes to great songwriters and original projects designed for the venues that host them.
More than just a concert season, the Val Tidone Festival is an invitation to discover Val Tidone through music: audiences move from village to village following the program, and each evening becomes an opportunity to experience a different corner of the Piacenza territory. For Gragnano Trebbiense and its hamlet of Campremoldo Sotto, the summer appointment with the festival is now an eagerly awaited tradition, capable of attracting a loyal audience from all over the province.
The 28th edition of the Val Tidone Festival runs from June 7 to October 16, 2026 with 17 concerts spread across twelve municipalities in Val Tidone-Val Luretta (Agazzano, Alta Val Tidone, Borgonovo Val Tidone, Calendasco, Gazzola, Gragnano Trebbiense, Pianello Val Tidone, Piozzano, Rottofreno, Sarmato, Ziano Piacentino, and Castel San Giovanni) and the city of Piacenza. Artistic direction by Livio Bollani.
In Gragnano Trebbiense, the festival offers two evenings: on July 28, in the hamlet of Campremoldo Sotto, the concert by Danilo Rea, and on August 4 in Piazza Verdi, the grand finale with Dirotta su Cuba. All concerts have free admission subject to availability, with the exception of the final event at the Teatro Municipale in Piacenza.
Program subject to change: it is advisable to check for updates on the official channels of the Fondazione Val Tidone Musica.
