A dive into the Middle Ages within the walls

Voci dall'Evo di Mezzo is the grand historical reenactment of Cittadella, the walled city in the province of Padua. At the end of September, the historic center, enclosed by the still entirely walkable medieval walls, relives the atmosphere of the Middle Ages: a unique scenic setting in the Veneto region.

History and spectacle

The event recounts the medieval life of Cittadella during the time of the Ezzelinian rule and the liberation of 1256. In the Public Gardens, the Campo della Marta, and Piazza Pierobon, there are historical costumed processions, military encampments, the reenactment of the battle, the medieval market with ancient crafts, falconry shows, archer exhibitions, historical games, and entertainment by jesters, itinerant musicians, and flag wavers.

A consolidated tradition

Organized by the Associazione Arme, Dame, Cavalieri & Arcieri della Torre (Association of Arms, Ladies, Knights & Archers of the Tower), Voci dall'Evo di Mezzo is now a consolidated tradition, having reached over twenty editions. For families and history enthusiasts, it is an opportunity to discover Cittadella in an unusual guise, with medieval taverns and evening shows that illuminate the walls.
