The San Michele neighbourhood festival
The San Michele district, in Bassano del Grappa (province of Vicenza), celebrates its patron saint, Saint Michael the Archangel (September 29th), every year with the traditional Sagra dei Funghi (Mushroom Festival). For a few days, the community comes alive with cultural, sporting, musical, and gastronomic events.
The porcini mushroom takes centre stage
The heart of the festival is the food stand, where you can enjoy dishes made with seasonal porcini mushrooms — first courses, main courses, and side dishes — alongside other local specialities. The mycological exhibition and weekend photography competitions and exhibitions provide the backdrop.
Music, sport, and community
Evenings are accompanied by live bands and moments of conviviality, with areas dedicated to families and children. It is an authentic neighbourhood festival, organised by the San Michele neighbourhood committee, which intertwines devotion to the patron saint with local culture and the good food of the Vicenza foothills.

In 2026, the San Michele district will once again celebrate its patron saint at the end of September with the Sagra dei Funghi (Mushroom Festival).
As tradition dictates, the food stand with dishes based on seasonal porcini mushrooms, the mycological exhibition, photography exhibitions and competitions, musical evenings with live bands, and events for families and children are expected. Detailed dates and program to come.

How to get there
San Michele is a district of Bassano del Grappa, reachable by car and local transport from the city centre. Bassano is served by a train station and the A31 Valdastico / SS47 Valsugana motorways.
