Jazz, blues, and soul in the arena of the former Molini Marzoli, between Mount Vesuvius and the sea
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Voci d'Autunno Jazz Festival is a musical event that lights up the open-air arena of the former Molini Meridionali Marzoli in Torre del Greco, in the province of Naples, during the weekends of September. Promoted by the Municipality of Torre del Greco through its Culture Office, the festival brings a lineup of jazz, blues, and soul to the Vesuvian city, set in a backdrop that blends industrial archaeology, the sea, and the volcano.
The Molini Meridionali Marzoli on Via Calastro were built in 1907 as a modern milling plant, strategically positioned between the port and the railway to facilitate grain arrival and flour distribution. Disused for decades, the vast complex is now one of the most recognizable examples of industrial archaeology on the Vesuvian coast. It houses municipal offices and, in its outdoor spaces, an arena that offers approximately 540 seats and up to 1,500 standing spots during the festival. Bringing live music back to this area is a stated goal of the municipal administration, which has also scheduled open-air cinema and other cultural initiatives in the same space.
Born as a short cycle of autumn concerts, the event has progressively expanded. In October 2024, it spanned four days, from the 17th to the 20th, with guests such as Sarah Jane Morris, the Solis String Quartet, Antonio Onorato, the Elisabetta Serio quartet, the Marco Zurzolo quintet, and the Spanish artist Antonio Lizana. In 2025, for its third edition, the festival moved entirely to September and grew to nine consecutive weekend evenings, confirming itself as one of the most significant jazz events in the Vesuvian area.
The program avoids rigid labels, exploring the many souls of Afro-American and Mediterranean music. Past editions have featured:
The evenings do not end on stage. The festival complements its musical program with art exhibitions, performances, artistic sessions, and jam sessions that extend the night, as well as a food & drink area to enjoy before or after the show. Admission to the concerts has always been free until capacity is reached, a choice that has made the festival accessible to a wide and diverse audience of all ages.
In the cultural program approved for 2026, the Municipality has confirmed the fourth edition of the festival, which will feature eight musical performances scheduled across the weekends of September. The festival is part of the project "Between Vesuvius and the sea, art is circular," approved and funded by the Metropolitan City of Naples for the artistic portion, with municipal funds allocated for ancillary services. Exact dates and artist names have not yet been released; it is advisable to follow the Municipality's official channels in the weeks leading up to late summer.
The third-largest city in Campania by population after Naples and Salerno, Torre del Greco stretches between the slopes of Mount Vesuvius and the gulf. It is world-famous for its coral and cameo craftsmanship, an artistic trade that has made it an international reference point, and it serves as a gateway to the Vesuvius National Park. A festival held in the evening, outdoors, in a former factory overlooking the sea, perfectly captures this dual identity: industrial and port heritage on one side, volcanic landscape and cultural vocation on the other.
The fourth edition of the festival has been included in the 2026 cultural program approved by the Municipality of Torre del Greco. Eight musical performances are planned for the weekends of September, once again in the open-air arena of the former Molini Meridionali Marzoli on Via Calastro, a space that has proven particularly well-suited for jazz, soul, and blues sounds over the years.
The project, titled "Between Vesuvius and the sea, art is circular," has been approved and funded by the Metropolitan City of Naples for the artistic portion, while ancillary services are covered by municipal funds. At the moment, neither the exact dates of the evenings nor the lineup composition have been published: updates will be released by the Municipality through official channels.
Concerts are held in the outdoor spaces of the former Molini Meridionali Marzoli, on Via Calastro in Torre del Greco (Metropolitan City of Naples).
By train: the Circumvesuviana (Naples-Sorrento line) and the state-run Naples-Salerno railway line serve Torre del Greco; from the stations, the complex can be reached by heading down towards the port area. By car: A3 Naples-Salerno motorway, take the Torre del Greco exit, then follow signs for the center and the coast. On concert evenings, traffic on Via Calastro may be subject to temporary changes.
In previous editions, concerts began at 9:00 PM with free admission until capacity is reached (approximately 540 seats and 1,500 standing spots). For 2026, hours and access methods will be communicated by the Municipality.
Organized by the Municipality of Torre del Greco - Culture Office. Program and updates are available on the Municipality's official website.
