About VIVA! Festival

VIVA! Festival is the premier event for electronic music and contemporary sound research in the heart of the Itria Valley, in Locorotondo, Bari province. Established in 2016, every summer it transforms the Apulian countryside into a crossroads of international artists, club culture, and experimentation, with nights that stretch until dawn. The 2026 edition celebrates its 10th anniversary from July 31 to August 2, featuring global electronic heavyweights, national exclusives, and the evocative sunrise closing by the sea.

VIVA! Festival: Ten years of electronic music in the Itria Valley

Amidst the landscape of trulli, dry-stone walls, and vineyards of the Itria Valley, the VIVA! Festival in Locorotondo (Bari, Puglia) has become one of the most recognizable fixtures on the Italian electronic scene. Born in 2016 with the vision of creating a symbiotic relationship between contemporary sounds and the identity of the Apulian territory, the festival brings a selection of international artists, producers, and DJs to the inland countryside of Bari every summer, redefining the boundaries of club culture.

A festival looking toward the future of sound

VIVA!'s formula is that of an international festival tailored to its territory: a few days curated down to the smallest detail, each with its own musical identity, ranging from refined electronica to alternative pop, and from ambient to techno and house drifts. The audience arrives from all over Italy and abroad, drawn as much by the programming as by the unique setting of the Itria Valley, just a few kilometers from Alberobello, Martina Franca, and Cisternino.

The sunrise experience

A distinctive element of the festival is the closing at dawn, a ritual that has become VIVA!'s signature over the years: after nights of concerts and DJ sets, the audience gathers to welcome the sunrise with a special set, often by the sea, reserved for full-pass holders. It is the most intimate and defining moment of the event, where music, landscape, and community merge.

Locorotondo and the Itria Valley

Listed among the most beautiful villages in Italy, Locorotondo is famous for its circular historic center and its characteristic pitched roofs known as cummerse. Nearby, the countryside of Contrada Grofoleo hosts the Arena Valle d'Itria, the heart of the festival. Choosing VIVA! means combining a vacation in Puglia with the discovery of one of the most vibrant musical scenes in Southern Italy, in a territory rich in Locorotondo DOC wine, olive oil, and hospitality.

Why you shouldn't miss it

  • International line-up with national exclusives and Apulian premieres.
  • Unique setting among trulli, vineyards, and the Itria Valley countryside.
  • Nights lasting until dawn and the legendary sunrise experience.
  • Just minutes away from Alberobello, Martina Franca, Cisternino, and Ostuni.
