The emerging band contest in the hills of Vinci
The Vitolini Music Festival was founded in 2026 as one of the freshest additions to the Tuscan summer music scene. Set in the small village of Vitolini, in the municipality of Vinci (Province of Florence, Tuscany), the festival brings emerging bands to the stage for a live music contest designed to give visibility to young groups and the local independent scene.
The heart of the event is the square of the San Pietro Apostolo church, located in the upper part of Vitolini, in a panoramic position overlooking the Montalbano hills, just a few kilometers from the center of Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo. The space in front of the ancient church, documented as early as the 13th century as a dependency of the nearby Pieve di Sant'Ansano, becomes an open-air stage immersed in greenery for the occasion.
The format is a contest for emerging bands: over the three days of the festival, twelve groups take turns on stage, showcasing original repertoires and covers to the public. The line-up for the first edition brought together bands with diverse names and heterogeneous styles, ranging from rock and pop to indie sounds:
In addition to the music, the Vitolini Music Festival offers a food and drink stand every afternoon, accompanying the public throughout the day in a village-fair atmosphere. The event is designed as a gathering point for the village community and live music enthusiasts, in an authentic and welcoming setting typical of Tuscan hamlets.
Admission is free and open to all: families, young people, and curious visitors can attend the performances without a ticket. The festival is part of the rich summer calendar of the Municipality of Vinci and its surrounding villages, confirming the cultural vibrancy of a territory that is inextricably linked to the genius of Leonardo da Vinci.
The inaugural edition of the Vitolini Music Festival enlivened the village of Vitolini from Friday, June 5 to Sunday, June 7, 2026, opening at 4:30 PM on the first day and continuing until midnight on Sunday.
The stars were twelve emerging bands that took turns on the stage set up in the square of the San Pietro Apostolo church: Back Choice, Black Moon, Bufera, Cosmopogo, Fire Dog, Le Pande Gialle, Le Rovine dell'Eden, Major Gravity, Rift, Someone on the Moon, The Sticky Truth, and WbR.
Accompanying the music, a food and drink stand was open every afternoon. Admission was free and open to everyone.
