«Vite… in scena» Theatre Season

A new drama season in the Asti Monferrato

«Vite… in scena» is the theatre season hosted by the Teatro Comunale of Costigliole d'Asti, a hillside village in the Province of Asti nestled among the vineyards of Monferrato, in Piedmont. Launched in January 2026, the festival is a cultural initiative curated directly by the local administration, which aimed to place drama back at the heart of town life with a programme designed to speak to all generations.

A programme of classics and comedy

The season is defined by three key themes: entertainment, emotion, and reflection. Performances take place on Saturday or Sunday evenings at 9:00 PM, alternating between major international repertoire texts and brilliant comedies, providing a stage for both professional companies and amateur groups from the Asti and Piedmont area.

• January 10 — «Futuro semplice», a mentalism show with Mazz Mariano, a journey between heart and mind that opened the festival.
• January 25 — «Ladro di razza» by Gianni Clementi, performed by the Compagnia C'Era l'Acca, presented for International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
• February 14 — «The Government Inspector» (L'Ispettore) by Nikolaj Gogol, with the Compagnia di Prosa di Quattordio directed by Mario Mortara, a satire on bureaucratic corruption.
• February 28 — «Posso spiegarle tutto!», a comedy of errors written by Sara Carbone and performed by the Asti-based company Fuori di Quinta.
• March 14 — «Boeing Boeing», the famous 20th-century French farce, with the Compagnia I Quattro Gatti from Verbania.
• April 25 — «Filumena Marturano» by Eduardo De Filippo, with the Turin-based Compagnia Gambrinus, the grand finale of the season.

A theatre for the community

The Teatro Comunale, located at Via Roma 16, is the beating heart of Costigliole d'Asti's cultural offerings. The debut of «Vite… in scena» was a complete sell-out, a testament to the public's appreciation for an event that celebrates theatrical heritage and strengthens the municipality's cultural identity. Between performances, the festival is also an opportunity to discover a Monferrato village famous for its wines and the evocative castle that dominates the hill.
