The grand swap meet for vintage and collectible photography gear, at Palairide in San Possidonio
The Vintage and Used Photographic Equipment Swap Meet is an unmissable event for lovers of analog photography and technical collectibles. It takes place in San Possidonio, a small municipality in the Province of Modena, in the heart of the Emilia plain, and is organized by the Circolo Fotografico Cavezzo with the patronage of the Municipality of San Possidonio. In 2026, the event will reach its 33rd edition, confirming itself as one of the longest-running and most attended photographic swap meets in Emilia-Romagna.
For an entire Sunday, the Palairide, in Piazzale Vinay, fills with exhibitors from all over Italy. On the stalls, you'll find an immense range of items that tell the story of photography:
It is the perfect place both for the expert collector hunting for a rare piece and for the novice who wants to approach film photography without spending a lot.
In addition to swapping and buying/selling, each edition features themed exhibitions and special displays. In 2026, an exhibition of Italian cameras curated by Mauro Casilli is planned, dedicated to national production and brands that have made the history of optics in our country. In past editions, the day has also been enlivened by the presence of the characteristic 'minuteri', itinerant photographers who use artisanal cameras to create silver print portraits in minutes: a small journey back in time that fascinates adults and children alike.
The Swap Meet is not just a market for industry professionals; it is a social event that attracts visitors from all over the province and neighboring regions, helping to keep alive interest in photographic culture in the San Possidonio and Bassa modenese area. Free admission and a friendly atmosphere make it a perfect Sunday outing for enthusiasts and the whole family.
