The independent natural wine fair in Rome, held at the San Paolo District
Vini Selvaggi is the independent natural wine fair that draws winemakers and enthusiasts from across Europe to Rome every year in early March. The event takes place at the San Paolo District, located at Via Alessandro Severo 48 in the eponymous district of the capital, just a short walk from the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls. The event's motto — «Vivi, Veri, Naturali» (Alive, True, Natural) — encapsulates a precise philosophy: providing a platform for those who work the vineyard with an artisanal approach, respecting the land without industrial intervention in the cellar.
The heart of the fair lies in the tasting tables: over 120 independent winemakers from Italy, France, Spain, Slovenia, and Austria present their labels in person. The public can taste, engage with producers, and purchase bottles directly, fostering the personal connection that is the true soul of the event. Alongside the winemakers, you will find distillers, coffee roasters, and food artisans, creating a journey that extends well beyond the glass.
A highlight of recent editions is the «Naturalmente Selvaggi!» opening party, which kicks off the event in an informal and convivial atmosphere filled with wine, a market, music, and social gatherings. It is a preview designed to introduce even the less experienced public to the world of natural wine in a relaxed, urban setting.
With Vini Selvaggi, the San Paolo district — a lively and evolving area of the Ostiense zone — transforms for three days into a massive, sprawling cellar. The choice of the San Paolo District, a repurposed urban space easily accessible by metro, reflects the spirit of the festival: independent, contemporary, and deeply rooted in the city's fabric. Collectives such as Vulcani Laziali and Senza Meja, alongside renowned names in the natural wine scene, animate the tables with stories of their territories and grape varieties.
Vini Selvaggi is not merely a commercial fair but a moment of oenological culture: debates, discussions, and meetings accompany the tastings, addressing the present and future of natural wine in Italy and Europe. For Horeca industry professionals, there is a dedicated accreditation, while for enthusiasts, the fair is the ideal opportunity to discover small-scale productions that are hard to find elsewhere.
Organized by Lorenzo Macinanti of Solo Vino Enoteca together with the communication studio Fritz.Ico led by Giulia Arimattei, the event has established itself as a benchmark for natural wine in Rome and the Lazio region.
The sixth edition of Vini Selvaggi brought the San Paolo District in Rome to life from March 7 to 9, 2026. The formula that has made the fair a benchmark for natural wine in the capital was confirmed: tasting tables managed directly by the winemakers, direct sales, and a program of meetings dedicated to independent oenological culture.
The event hosted over 120 winemakers from Italy, France, Spain, Slovenia, and Austria, selected for their artisanal approach and respect for the environment, alongside distillers, coffee roasters, and food artisans.
Opening party from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM: free preview featuring wine, a market, music, and meetings, with drinks available for purchase. Winemakers, distillers, coffee roasters, and artisans will be present.
