Three nights of live music in Piazza Guido Masi, at the foot of the Castello dei Conti Guidi
Every year at the end of August, VinciSound brings live music back to the heart of Vinci, the village in the Province of Florence world-renowned as the birthplace of Leonardo. For three consecutive nights, the stage set up in Piazza Guido Masi, at the foot of the picturesque Castello dei Conti Guidi, becomes the go-to destination for local bands, singer-songwriters, and emerging artists. The festival traditionally closes the rich Estate dell'Ingegno (Summer of Genius) program, which enlivens Vinci and its surrounding areas from June to September.
Organized by the Pro Loco of Vinci, VinciSound has a clear mission: to provide a platform for original music and new compositions rather than cover bands. In recent years, the event has chosen to spotlight emerging groups and singer-songwriters with unique voices, often supported by local musical institutions like the Accademia Lizard of Empoli-Vinci and the Mulino del Ronzone recording studio. The result is an authentic, widespread festival where the audience can discover new voices from the Tuscan scene in a welcoming and informal setting.
The format is typically divided into three evenings with distinct themes: one dedicated to students and projects from music academies, one to new releases and original tracks from local groups, and one to singer-songwriters. The festivities kick off at 7:00 PM, when the food area with its sandwich shop and craft brewery opens, leading into the main concerts later in the evening.
Attending VinciSound is also the perfect opportunity to explore Vinci and its deep connection to Leonardo: the Leonardian Museum, his birthplace in Anchiano, and the trails winding through the olive groves and hills of Montalbano. The festival is part of a vibrant late-summer season that offers food festivals, concerts, and folk traditions throughout the Province of Florence and Tuscany.
The 2026 edition of VinciSound is scheduled from Friday, August 21 to Sunday, August 23, 2026 in Piazza Guido Masi, in the historic center of Vinci. The consolidated formula is confirmed: three nights of free live music, organized by the Pro Loco of Vinci, showcasing emerging artists and original local music. The event closes the Estate dell'Ingegno program, the calendar of events that enlivens Vinci and its hamlets during the summer months.
The evenings kick off at 7:00 PM with the opening of the food and beverage area. The detailed artistic program, including guests and bands for the three nights, will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event and published on the official Vinci tourism website.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition, including the line-up for the three nights, artists, and concert times, will be announced by the Pro Loco of Vinci in the weeks preceding the event and published on visit-vinci.it.
Based on previous editions, the structure includes three evenings with distinct characters dedicated respectively to music academy projects, original tracks from local groups, and singer-songwriters, with doors opening at 7:00 PM and concerts in the evening.
Vinci is located in the Province of Florence, in the heart of the Montalbano area. By car, it can be reached in a few minutes from the FI-PI-LI highway (Empoli exit). By train, the reference station is Empoli (Florence-Pisa line), which is connected to Vinci by local buses.
All events are held in Piazza Guido Masi, in the historic center of Vinci, at the foot of the Castello dei Conti Guidi.
The evenings begin at 7:00 PM with the opening of the food area; concerts continue throughout the evening. Admission is free and open to all.
Combine your evening with a visit to the Leonardian Museum and Leonardo's birthplace in Anchiano. During high season, it is advisable to book accommodation in Vinci and the surrounding area in advance.
