Singing, exhibitions, and the rural world at Villa San Carlo Park
For over thirty years, the Vicenza Province Bird Fair has attracted enthusiasts and curious visitors to Costabissara, a small municipality at the foot of the first Vicenza hills, in the province of Vicenza. The heart of the event is the charming Villa San Carlo Park, the town's green lung, which for one day transforms into a large outdoor exhibition space.
The most anticipated moment is the singing competition, where birds compete in their melodies under the watchful eye of expert judges. Alongside the aviaries, there are exhibitions of farm animals, ponies, a dog show open to all breeds, and stands dedicated to fossils, taxidermy, and dynamic modeling. There is also a large market for gardening, breeding, and hobby items.
The fair is designed as an event for all ages: children can get closer to the world of animals, while adults discover an ornithological culture rooted in the territory. The organization is managed by the Costabissara Ornithological Association in collaboration with the Pro Loco, who enrich the program each year with novelties such as falconry displays.
