The contemporary art fair at Fiera di Forlì
Vernice Art Fair is one of the main contemporary art fairs in the Romagna region and takes place annually in the pavilions of Fiera di Forlì, at Via Punta di Ferro 2, in the heart of the Province of Forlì-Cesena (Emilia-Romagna). Originally conceived as an opportunity for artists, galleries, and the public to connect, the event is now a benchmark for those wishing to discover current art trends and closely follow the growth of new talents.
The heart of the fair is the large market exhibition that brings together art galleries, individual artists and collectives, cultural associations, and exhibition projects. The stated goal is to offer visibility to both established professionals and young emerging talents, creating networking and dialogue opportunities between the art world and visitors. Alongside the exhibition stands, the experience is enriched by special exhibitions, site-specific installations, and thematic projects curated for each edition.
Among the most appreciated spaces is the Euro Expo Art pavilion, which hosts artists from dozens of different countries, from the United States to the United Kingdom, from France to Germany, and from South Africa to Morocco. The section dedicated to the Academies of Fine Arts is also very popular, involving Italian institutions such as Bologna, Florence, Ravenna, Verona, and Brescia, often alongside foreign universities: a way to give a voice to new generations of artists.
Vernice Art Fair is not just about exhibitions: the program includes live performances, awards for art competitions such as the Coinè Art Competition and the competition for schools, as well as charity auctions whose proceeds support scholarships and research. It is this mix of art, entertainment, and social commitment that makes the fair an anticipated event not only for industry professionals but also for families and the city's curious visitors.
The event is part of the rich cultural landscape of Forlì, a city known for its major exhibition cycles at the San Domenico Museums and for its solid artistic tradition. Visiting Vernice Art Fair is also an opportunity to discover Forlì's historic center and the hospitality of Romagna.
The twenty-third edition of Vernice Art Fair confirmed the formula that has made the Forlì event famous: a large contemporary art market exhibition combined with a packed schedule of side events. The guiding theme for 2026 was "Path of Peace", inspired by the eighth centenary of Francis of Assisi's death, which invited students to reflect on the values of peace, dialogue, and fraternity through the competition reserved for schools.
The edition showcased exhibitions, installations, and emerging talents in the spaces of Fiera di Forlì, in Emilia-Romagna.
