The night that never ends on Lake Maggiore

When August arrives, Verbania dims its ordinary lights and turns on the festive ones: the White Night is one of the most beloved events of the summer in the capital of the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola province. For one entire evening, the city centre and the picturesque Pallanza lakefront transform into a grand open-air stage, where open shops, performances, and music keep residents and tourists company until sunrise.

A sprawling stage, from sunset to dawn

The format follows the classic Italian 'notte bianca' tradition, but with an extra touch provided by the stunning backdrop of Lake Maggiore. The evening kicks off with street performers animating the squares and streets of the centre, continues with live music and DJ sets dedicated to the greatest hits of the 90s and 2000s, and even includes a more intimate moment with a film screening in the dead of night.

But the true signature of the Verbania White Night is its finale: instead of closing with a final drink, the festival guides the most resilient guests until dawn with a session of yoga and meditation, the sound of Tibetan singing bowls, and a shared breakfast by the lake. A collective awakening that gives the Municipality of Verbania a unique identity compared to many other White Nights.

The event is promoted by the Municipality of Verbania and is part of the city's rich summer and autumn calendar, which brings the lakefront and the centre to life from June to November with culture, sport, and music. The White Night thus dialogues with other major August events, from pyromusical fireworks to the historic Rowing Palio.
