The global cycling mobility summit returns to Italy, in Rimini
From June 16 to 19, 2026, the Rimini Palacongressi becomes the world capital of cycling by hosting Velo-city, the benchmark annual summit on cycling and active mobility promoted by the European Cyclists' Federation (ECF). This is the first time the summit returns to Italy after the 1991 edition: a choice that rewards Rimini's transformation from a car-centric city to a people-oriented one, in the heart of the Province of Rimini and Emilia-Romagna.
The conference brings together over 1,500 delegates from more than 60 countries: administrators, urban planners, politicians, academics, activists, and industry professionals. The scientific program includes over 80 sessions and around 400 international speakers, structured around the guiding theme «Delivering the Urban Dream», i.e., how to build more livable, green, and inclusive cities through active mobility.
Velo-city doesn't stay confined within the conference halls. The most anticipated moment is the Bike Parade on Wednesday, June 17, open not only to delegates but also to citizens and visitors: a collective ride of about 10 km through the historic center, Borgo San Giuliano, and the seafront. The Bike Village comes alive at Parco Fellini, with music, food trucks, and areas dedicated to road safety, where the festival meets the city and the public.
The event is promoted by the European Cyclists' Federation together with the Municipality of Rimini, VisitRimini, the FIAB (Italian Federation for Environment and Bicycle), and the Italian Exhibition Group, with AIM Group International as the congress provider. An opportunity to position Rimini and the entire Emilia-Romagna region on the international map of sustainable mobility.
The first Italian edition of Velo-city in 35 years will take place at the Rimini Palacongressi from June 16 to 19, 2026. Four days of international discussion on cycling mobility, with a rich scientific program and a packed schedule of events open to the city.
The scientific program includes over 80 sessions and around 400 international speakers, with over 1,500 delegates from more than 60 countries. All works revolve around the theme «Delivering the Urban Dream» and are divided into five thematic areas:
