Young sailors open the Sailing Week
The Veleziana Opti is the regatta of the Optimist class held in Chioggia, in the province of Venice, and it officially opens the Veleziana Sailing Week, the sailing week organized by the Compagnia della Vela of Venice.
The Optimist class
The Optimist is the small one-design dinghy with which generations of sailors have taken their first steps on the water. Dedicating the opening of the Sailing Week to this class means focusing on youth sailing and the training of future talents, in an event that combines competition and athletic growth.
A choral event
The regatta is organized by Compagnia della Vela together with Diporto Velico Veneziano and Circolo Nautico Chioggia, and represents the first act of an event that in the following days moves to Venice with regattas of all kinds, from vintage boats to match races, up to the historic final Veleziana.
Veleziana Opti — edition 2026
The Veleziana Opti 2026 takes place on October 10-11 in Chioggia and officially opens the Veleziana Sailing Week (October 10-18), the great sailing week organized by the Compagnia della Vela of Venice.
The regatta of the Optimist class is organized together with the Diporto Velico Veneziano and the Circolo Nautico Chioggia. In the following days, the Sailing Week moves to Venice with events such as La Certosa (maxi match race), the SB20 Italia Cup, the Veleziana al Terzo, rowing races, and the historic XIX Veleziana on October 18.

- Regatta of the Optimist class for young sailors, opening of the Veleziana Sailing Week.
October 14-18 — Veleziana Sailing Week (in Venice)
- La Certosa (maxi match race), SB20 Italia Cup – Excelsior Cup, Veleziana al Terzo, Veleziana al Tesoro, rowing races, Veleziana Dinghy and Veleziana Hansa (inclusive sailing).
- October 18 — XIX Veleziana, final regatta with awards ceremony in San Marco.

How to get there
Chioggia is reachable by car via the SS309 Romea. By train to Venice or Rovigo, then by bus. The regatta can be watched from the quays of the port and the breakwater.

Regatta reserved for registered young sailors of the Optimist class. Free viewing from the shore.
