Valtellina arrives in Peschiera Borromeo

The Valtellina Festival is the grand gastronomic celebration that every May brings the flavors of the Lombard Alps to Peschiera Borromeo, a town in the Milanese hinterland in the province of Milan. In the charming Borromeo Park, between Via Filzi and Via Matteotti, Valtellina's culinary tradition takes center stage for two intense weekends.

The great mountain dishes

The menu is a journey into mountain cuisine. The most famous dish is pizzoccheri, fresh buckwheat pasta cut into ribbons and seasoned with butter, cheese, cabbage, and potatoes; alongside, sciatt, soft buckwheat and cheese fritters served hot. Appetizers include marinated slinzega, IGP bresaola, and carpaccio; main courses feature game in salmì with polenta, stew, typical cheeses, and cured meats. All accompanied by Valtellina wines.

A grand convivial table

The Borromeo Park space can accommodate over a thousand people. Admission is free, but booking is strongly recommended due to high attendance. The festival opens on Friday evening and continues on Saturday and Sunday for lunch (12 PM to 3 PM) and dinner (7 PM to 12 AM), in a warm and familiar atmosphere.
