Three days of music, cocktails, and solidarity at the Campo di Fiera on Mount Amiata
Un Mojito per la Vita has become the ritual that inaugurates the summer in Piancastagnaio, a medieval village on the slopes of Mount Amiata, in the province of Siena. For fourteen years, in mid-June, the green Campo di Fiera — the vast clearing of ancient chestnut trees in the upper part of the town, along the Via Grossetana — fills with music, lights, and the scent of mojitos for three evenings that mix celebration, remembrance, and generosity.
The event was founded in 2012 in memory of Enrico Eugeni, a local firefighter who passed away prematurely at just fifty years old due to an illness. The initiative was championed by his friends and his nephews, Alessio and Valerio Sbrolli, with the support of the Contrada del Coro, to ensure that Enrico's smile and passion would continue to fill the town every year. Since then, the event has grown to involve the entire community and is now organized by the Pro Loco of Piancastagnaio.
The heart of the festival is the Campo di Fiera, which transforms for three days into a large open-air space with a stage, food and beverage area, and stalls. The evenings are marked by concerts and DJ sets spanning diverse genres — from grunge to britpop, hip hop to dance, electronic to trip hop, and pop to alternative rock — with themed nights that keep the crowd dancing until late at night. The signature mojitos and other cocktails are a must, accompanied by delicious food stands.
Over the years, the program has been enriched with many side activities designed for all ages: rallies and stunt shows with the Motoclub Viking Division, sunset e-bike excursions on the trails of Mount Amiata, performances by champions like yo-yo champion Lorenzo Sabatini, concerts by groups such as Bandao and Be Folki, as well as workshops and entertainment. Committed to sustainability, the festival has long adopted compostable tableware in a plastic-free approach shared with the town's contrade.
What makes Un Mojito per la Vita special is its charitable spirit: part of the proceeds from the evenings is donated to cancer research (AIRC Toscana). Toasting, dancing, and dining together thus becomes a concrete gesture of solidarity, in full harmony with Enrico's message. It is the perfect opportunity to discover Piancastagnaio and Mount Amiata at the beginning of the summer season, while waiting for the festivals of the four contrade that will enliven the village throughout July.
The fourteenth edition of Un Mojito per la Vita will be held in Piancastagnaio (SI) from Thursday, June 18 to Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Campo di Fiera. As per tradition, the event organized by the Pro Loco opens the summer on Mount Amiata with evenings of music, DJ sets, cocktails, and food, maintaining its charitable spirit in support of AIRC research. The proven structure of previous editions — stage, food and beverage area, mojitos, and side activities — is confirmed, while the detailed program with artists, schedules, and themed nights will be announced by the Pro Loco in the weeks leading up to the event.
The tentative schedule confirms three evenings from June 18 to 20, 2026 at the Campo di Fiera, with food stands opening in the evening and music until late at night. The detailed program (line-up, DJ sets, themed nights, and side activities such as motorcycle rallies and e-bike excursions) will be published by the Pro Loco of Piancastagnaio closer to the event. For updates, please refer to the official Pro Loco channels and the event's Facebook page.
