About UmbriaWine

UmbriaWine is the festival that transforms the historic centre of Perugia into a grand showcase dedicated to Umbrian wine. Three days of tastings in the city's most beautiful squares, masterclasses led by sommeliers, sensory journeys, and exclusive experiences, accompanied by music from local artists. Organised by the youth association Open Mind, it has become in just a few years one of the most followed wine events in Umbria, attracting tens of thousands of visitors.

Perugia celebrates Umbrian wine

UmbriaWine is the Festival del Vino Umbro (Festival of Umbrian Wine) that every September brings the best of the region's wine production to the heart of Perugia. Founded in 2023, the event has experienced rapid growth, establishing itself as a strategic appointment for the promotion of Umbrian wine and territory.

The wine squares

The festival enlivens the most picturesque squares of the historic centre โ€” Piazza Italia, Giardini Carducci, Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Matteotti โ€” with tasting stands featuring dozens of Umbrian wineries and hundreds of labels. The tastings, curated by sommeliers, allow visitors to discover the region's great wines, from indigenous grape varieties to the most renowned excellences.

Masterclasses and exclusive experiences

In addition to tastings, UmbriaWine offers themed masterclasses (dessert wines, indigenous grape varieties, gourmet pairings, wine and cigars) and sensory journeys in exclusive locations within the city, such as the Cloister of the Cathedral and the underground Perugia. Organised by the youth association Open Mind, the festival combines wine, culture, and music, enhancing the gastronomic identity of Umbria.

UmbriaWine โ€” edition 2026

The fourth edition of UmbriaWine takes place in the historic centre of Perugia from 11 to 13 September 2026, featuring tastings in the squares (Piazza Italia, Giardini Carducci, Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Matteotti), guided masterclasses, events in exclusive locations, and music by local artists. Among the year's innovations is the international opening with the presence of foreign operators.
