The medieval village of Bassano in Teverina amidst flowers, art, and community
Tuscia in Fiore is the widespread festival that lights up the villages of the Viterbo area every spring with flowers, art, and culture. The Bassano in Teverina leg, a small municipality in the Province of Viterbo in Lazio, is among the most anticipated: for an entire weekend in May, the medieval village transforms into an open-air garden, where every alley, staircase, and small square is filled with floral arrangements, works of art, and the scents of spring.
The event began as Borgo in Fiore, then Borgo in Festa, and today it is part of the Tuscia in Fiore circuit promoted in collaboration with the Lazio Regional Council and VisitLazio. The common thread remains the same: to enhance the identity of the town through the beauty of flowers and the talent of local artists and artisans. The heart of the event is the Borgo degli artisti (Artists' Village), featuring painting exhibitions, local crafts, and floral installations that engage with the aesthetics of the ancient stone architecture.
Strolling through Bassano in Teverina during Tuscia in Fiore means rediscovering the slow pace of the Tuscia villages, where spring becomes an occasion for celebration and gathering. The event, with free admission, is designed for families, art lovers, and curious visitors looking to combine a day trip with the discovery of one of the most charming towns in the province of Viterbo.
The fifth edition of Tuscia in Fiore in Bassano in Teverina was held on May 9 and 10, 2026. The curtain rose on Saturday at 4:00 PM, in the presence of local and provincial authorities, with the inauguration of the exhibition by artist Iryna Ostapyuk at the Wedding Hall in Piazza Finzi.
Amidst flowers, art, and community, the village hosted a weekend of widespread events for all ages, dedicated to spring and the traditions of the Tuscia region.
Bassano in Teverina is located in the province of Viterbo, in northern Lazio. By car, it can be reached via the Orte-Viterbo expressway (Bassano in Teverina exit). The reference train station is Orte, on the Rome-Florence line, just a few kilometers from the village.
Admission is free. Food stalls open from Saturday at lunch; activities continue throughout the afternoon and evening in the streets of the historic center.
