About Turro e Gorla in Festa

Turro e Gorla — Quartieri in Festa is the neighbourhood festival of Municipality 2 of Milan, part of the "Quartieri in Festa" (Neighbourhoods in Celebration) project designed to rediscover the historical and cultural identity of the old villages that once did not belong to the city. At the Martesana Amphitheatre, in the Martyrs of the Iraqi Freedom Park, a day of exhibitions, debates, shows, an artisan and agricultural market, and book sharing animates the Turro and Gorla neighbourhoods. A free moment of aggregation, built with local associations to bring Milanese culture back to the streets.

The Turro and Gorla neighbourhoods celebrate

Turro e Gorla — Quartieri in Festa is the event that brings the celebration to the Turro and Gorla neighbourhoods, in Municipality 2 of Milan. The event is part of the "Quartieri in Festa" project, an initiative by Municipality 2 created to evoke the historical and cultural identity of the old villages that were not part of the Municipality of Milan in the past, bringing city culture back to the streets and squares.

At the Martesana Amphitheatre

The heart of the festival is the Martesana Amphitheatre, in the Martyrs of the Iraqi Freedom Park, along via Agordat. A green and civic space that transforms into a widespread stage for the day, welcoming the inhabitants of the two neighbourhoods in a climate of meeting and sharing.

Exhibitions, shows, and market

The programme is extensive and varied: exhibitions, debates and book presentations on the neighbourhoods, shows, performances by local musical groups, an artisan and agricultural market, a book sharing service, and activities for children. A mosaic of offerings that highlights the associations, committees, and social realities of the area.

A festival built from the ground up

The event is made possible through the collaboration between Municipality 2 and local associations, including Happy Days and Amici della Musica, with the involvement of numerous local committees and organisations. Access is free and open, in line with the community spirit of the project: making the Turro and Gorla neighbourhoods a place of culture, memory, and community in the heart of Municipality 2 of Milan.
