About Trofeo Città di Fasano

The Trofeo Città di Fasano is the classic road race that every spring turns the centre of this town in the province of Brindisi into a major running festival. Organised by Polisport Ciclo Club Fasano and part of the regional Corripuglia circuit, the competitive 10.5-kilometre race on a mostly flat course attracts over a thousand athletes from across Puglia every year, accompanied by a non-competitive fun run for families and amateurs. A celebration of sport, colour, and community in the heart of the Itria Valley.

A running festival in the heart of Puglia

The Trofeo Città di Fasano is one of the most popular road races in the province of Brindisi and a staple of the Apulian running calendar. Every year, between late May and early June, the streets of Fasano, in the heart of the Itria Valley, fill with athletes, enthusiasts, and families for a day entirely dedicated to running and community. The event is organised by Polisport Ciclo Club Fasano, a historic local sports club, and is part of the regional Corripuglia championship.

The course and the race

The competitive race covers a distance of approximately 10.5 kilometres, along a mostly flat route that winds through the main city streets and extends into the countryside of the Fasano territory. The race starts in the morning, while the awards ceremony takes place in the central squares, the beating heart of the event. Alongside the competitive race, there is a non-competitive fun run of about 8-10 kilometres, designed for families, amateurs, and casual runners, featuring refreshment points and pacer support.

Numbers and participation

The Trofeo Città di Fasano regularly attracts over a thousand participants, including competitive runners and fun-run enthusiasts, cementing its status as one of the most crowded stages of the Corripuglia circuit. Athletes from all over the region gather in Fasano, helping to make the event a true festival of outdoor sport.

In memory of Giacomo Rosato

Recent editions have also taken on deep emotional significance with the establishment of the Trofeo Giacomo Rosato, dedicated to the memory of the local athlete and entrepreneur who passed away in 2024. It is an award that blends the competitive spirit with the memory of a figure much loved by the local sports community.

Fasano and the Itria Valley

The event is also a perfect opportunity to discover Fasano, an elegant town in the province of Brindisi overlooking the Adriatic and nestled among the ancient olive trees of the Itria Valley. Its historic centre, the surrounding masserie (farmhouses), and the landscape of the Apulian countryside provide the backdrop for a day that combines sport, tradition, and typical Apulian hospitality.

Trofeo Città di Fasano — edition 2026

The 15th edition of the Trofeo Città di Fasano took place on Sunday, May 24, 2026, serving as the eighth stage of the regional Corripuglia circuit. A full house: 1,500 athletes at the start, including approximately 1,200 competitive runners on the 10.5-kilometre course and 300 participants in the non-competitive fun run. A great celebration of sport, colour, and emotion, featuring the awarding of the 2nd Trofeo Giacomo Rosato.

15th Trofeo Città di Fasano - May 24, 2026

The fifteenth edition, the eighth stage of the Corripuglia circuit, was a sell-out with a total of 1,500 athletes: 1,200 competitive runners tackling the 10.5 km and 300 participants in the non-competitive fun run of about 8 kilometres, supported by two intermediate refreshment points and a pacer service.

The men's race was won by Domenico Ricatti (Atletica Pro Canosa) with a time of 35:09, while Mariangela Ceglia (Happy Runners Altamura) won the women's race in 41:13. The awards ceremony took place in the city's central squares, with the mascot Pungino accompanying the event.

The edition paid tribute to Giacomo Rosato, the athlete and entrepreneur from Fasano who passed away in 2024, with the presentation of the 2nd Trofeo Giacomo Rosato, in a day marked by enthusiasm and participation.
