A weekend of solidarity in Galliate
TriathLions is one of the most cherished charity events in the spring calendar of Galliate, a town in the Novara area overlooking the Ticino river, in the province of Novara and the heart of eastern Piedmont. For two days, the scenic Piazza Vittorio Veneto, at the foot of the imposing Visconti-Sforza Castle, transforms into a vibrant festival space where sports, play, art, and gastronomy serve the community.
Who organizes it and why
The event is promoted by the Lions Club Novara Ovest Ticino in collaboration with the Pro Loco Galliate and with the patronage of the Municipality of Galliate. True to the Lions service tradition, all proceeds are donated to local organizations: recent editions have supported the Associazione Genitori Sth, the Associazione Vega, and the Asilo Infantile di Galliate, as well as international solidarity projects. Participating in TriathLions means having fun while making a tangible contribution to those in need.
What to expect
The program changes from year to year but always maintains the same spirit: a mix of free and donation-based activities suitable for all ages. Recurring highlights include:
- the "I Pennelloni" impromptu painting competition, where artists paint live in the square;
- a charity walk open to everyone, dedicated to wellness and fundraising;
- activities for children, featuring workshops, play circuits, and pony rides;
- sports demonstrations hosted by local clubs, such as Basket Galliate;
- convivial moments with the Pro Loco dinner and local specialties.
Galliate and its Castle
The backdrop for the event is one of the most iconic monuments in the Novara region: the Galliate Castle, a late-medieval fortress with powerful corner towers that dominates the historic center. Experiencing TriathLions also means rediscovering this corner of Piedmont, just a few kilometers from Novara and the border with Lombardy, in a welcoming and familiar village atmosphere.
TriathLions — edition 2026
TriathLions 2026 brought Piazza Vittorio Veneto to life for two days at the foot of the Galliate Castle, with a packed program of charity initiatives for families and sports enthusiasts. The event, organized by the Lions Club Novara Ovest Ticino together with the Pro Loco Galliate and supported by the Municipality, confirmed its winning formula: fun, outdoor activities, and fundraising for local associations in the Novara area.
Between painting competitions, healthy walks, children's workshops, and social gatherings, the edition united different generations around a common goal. All proceeds were allocated to support the Associazione Genitori Sth, the Associazione Vega, and the Asilo Infantile di Galliate nursery school.

Saturday, May 9
- 8:00 AM — Opening of the "I Pennelloni" impromptu painting competition, with artists painting live in the square
- Afternoon — Pony rides for children and sports demonstrations by Basket Galliate
- Evening — Pro Loco dinner and meeting with the first team of Basket Galliate for photos, autographs, and demonstrations
Sunday, May 10
- 8:30 AM — Healthy walk open to everyone in the company of the Associazione Nonno Boj
- During the day — Activities and play circuits for children offered by the Amodimblu association, divided into two sessions
- 5:00 PM — Closing of the event

Where

How to get there
By car: Galliate can be reached via the A4 Turin-Milan motorway (Novara Est exit) or the A26; there is ample parking in the streets surrounding the center. By train: the Galliate station is served by the Novara-Luino/Sesto Calende line, with frequent regional connections from Novara.
Admission and info
