About Trasiremando
A race that revives the tradition of boatmen
Trasiremando is a non-competitive rowing race held in Passignano sul Trasimeno, in the province of Perugia, every year on Ferragosto (August 15th). The event revives the ancient tradition of races between fishing boats that took place for centuries on Lake Trasimeno for the Feast of San Rocco.
The route among the islands
Organized by A.S.D. Centro Rematori Passignano in collaboration with local associations, the race is open to all types of rowing boats. The full course includes Isola Minore, Isola Maggiore, Isola Polvese, San Feliciano, and Monte del Lago, before returning to Passignano; a shorter route with arrival at Isola Maggiore is also available. Refreshment points and intermediate finish lines are set up along the route at the islands.
A celebration on the lake
More than a competition, Trasiremando is a popular festival celebrating Passignano's historic connection with its lake. Boats gather in the area in front of the docks, and the race starts in the morning. Participation is open to anyone over fourteen years of age; those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult on the same boat.

Trasiremando returns as tradition dictates on Ferragosto, August 15, 2026, in Passignano sul Trasimeno. The non-competitive race, open to all types of rowing boats, will feature the usual route among the islands of Lake Trasimeno, with boats gathering at the docks and the start in the morning.

How to get there
Passignano sul Trasimeno can be reached by car from the Perugia-Bettolle highway (Passignano exit) and by train on the Foligno-Terontola line. Boats gather at the docks in the town center.
Participation
The race is open to all types of rowing boats; participation is allowed from age 14 upwards (minors accompanied by an adult). Maximum time for the full course: 6 hours. For registration and information, contact A.S.D. Centro Rematori Passignano.
