About Trasiremando
A rowing race that revives the boatmen's tradition
Trasiremando is a non-competitive rowing race held in Passignano sul Trasimeno, in the province of Perugia, every year on Ferragosto (August 15th). The event revives the ancient tradition of races between fishing boats that for centuries took place on Lake Trasimeno on the occasion of the Feast of San Rocco.
The route among the islands
Organized by A.S.D. Centro Rematori Passignano with the collaboration of local associations, the race is open to all types of rowing boats. The full route touches the Isola Minore, the Isola Maggiore, the Isola Polvese, San Feliciano, and Monte del Lago, before returning to Passignano; a shorter route with arrival at Isola Maggiore is also planned. Refreshment points and intermediate finish lines are set up along the route on the islands.
A celebration on the lake
More than a competition, Trasiremando is a popular festival that celebrates Passignano's historic bond with its lake. Boats gather in the area in front of the docks, and the start is set for the morning. Anyone over fourteen years of age can participate; those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult on board the same boat.

Trasiremando returns as tradition dictates on Ferragosto, August 15, 2026, in Passignano sul Trasimeno. The non-competitive rowing race, open to all types of rowing boats, will feature the route among the islands of Lake Trasimeno with a gathering at the docks and a morning start.

How to get there
Passignano sul Trasimeno can be reached by car from the Perugia-Bettolle junction (Passignano exit) and by train on the Foligno-Terontola line. Boats gather at the docks in the town center.
Participation
The race is open to all types of rowing boats; participation is allowed from age 14 upwards (minors accompanied by an adult). Maximum time for the full route: 6 hours. For registration and information, contact A.S.D. Centro Rematori Passignano.
