Street food and live music on the Racale coast, in the Ionian Salento
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Street Food Festival in Torre Suda is one of the most anticipated culinary events of the Salento summer. Launched in 2024 by the Tipico Eventi association, the event brings the best of street food to the Ionian coast of the Municipality of Racale, in the province of Lecce, every August. With the aroma of fried delicacies, craft beers, and the sound of folk music, the festival has quickly become a landmark for both locals and tourists vacationing in lower Salento.
The festival takes place in the picturesque Giuseppe Toma Coastal Garden, a green space overlooking the sea in the marina of Torre Suda, a seaside district of the Municipality of Racale. It traditionally takes place in the second half of August, when the Apulian Ionian coast is at the height of its summer season. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the organizers; it is recommended to follow the Tipico Eventi social media channels for the updated calendar.
The heart of the event is the large gastronomic area, where stalls offer sweet and savory street food specialties, with a focus on typical products from the Apulian region. There is no shortage of craft beers and international offerings, in a format designed to satisfy every palate:
Each evening continues until late at night with a rich entertainment program: live concerts, DJ sets, street performers, and comedy moments enliven the Coastal Garden until 1:00 AM. Pizzica and Salento folk music play a leading role, in line with the local musical tradition, alongside bands and musical projects from the local scene.
The Street Food Festival is designed for a wide audience: admission is free, and the early hours of the evening are also dedicated to children, with entertainment and games. The comfortable relaxation areas and tables set up in the garden allow you to dine outdoors while enjoying the sea breeze in an informal and convivial atmosphere.
Torre Suda takes its name from the ancient 16th-century coastal tower that dominates this stretch of coastline, characterized by low cliffs, small coves, and fine sandy beaches. A seaside district of Racale, it is located in the Ionian Salento, just a few kilometers from Gallipoli and the most famous towns in the province of Lecce. Participating in the Street Food Festival is also an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of Puglia, amidst crystal-clear sea, good food, and Salento hospitality.
The Street Food Festival in Torre Suda returns in the summer of 2026 to the Racale marina, in the Ionian Salento. The precise dates and the program of concerts, DJ sets, and shows have not yet been announced: the event usually takes place in the second half of August at the Giuseppe Toma Coastal Garden, with free admission. For the updated calendar, it is recommended to follow the social media channels of the Tipico Eventi association.
