The Torneo di Ronco is the night football tournament that enlivens the hamlet of Ronco di Gussago, in the Municipality of Gussago (province of Brescia), every summer. Held in memory of Marzio Maccarana, it has become a regular fixture of the Brescia summer, attracting teams, fans, and spectators for two weeks of evening matches and celebration.

Sport, cheering, and conviviality

The matches are played at night at the sports centre on Via San Giovanni Bosco, under the floodlights, in an atmosphere that blends amateur competition with a festive spirit. Around the pitch, there are food stalls and a refreshment area, making the tournament an occasion for evening gatherings for the entire community. Between matches, the public enjoys summer evenings with good food, beer, and cheering.

A community celebration

The tournament is organised by the Associazione Culturale Venanzio, founded in 2011, with the patronage of the Municipality of Gussago. More than just a sports competition, it is an event that brings together team spirit, remembrance, and a sense of belonging to the Ronco community. The numerous participating teams compete for the title in a spirit of healthy rivalry, in front of a loyal audience.
