An evening of rock, pop, and blues for charity at the Alpini pavilion in Bairo
In the heart of the Canavese region, in Bairo (Province of Turin), the Alpini Group pavilion on Via Prelle hosts a charity concert by the Topoband Aps. It is one of those evenings where music becomes a tangible act of support: all proceeds, after covering basic expenses, are donated to charity. In this instance, funds are dedicated to the medical care of Rebecca Caligiuri, a young woman from Forno Canavese facing a rare illness.
The Topoband is a rock, pop, and blues band founded by Tommaso Biffi, consisting of about eighteen musicians who rotate on stage. They are all volunteers: people aged 18 to 72, each with a different profession but a solid musical background and, above all, a big heart. No member is paid, as the band plays exclusively for charitable causes, following the spirit of the Blues Brothers who reunited the group for a good cause.
The show lasts over two hours and spans various genres, featuring beloved Italian and international covers. Artists honored include the Blues Brothers, Pinguini Tattici Nucleari, Lucio Corsi, Zucchero Fornaciari, Elvis Presley, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Dylan, and the Eagles. The audience enjoys many classics, performed with passion and energy by a tight-knit and large ensemble.
The evening is a collaboration between the Topoband Aps and the Bairo Alpini Group, under the patronage of the Municipality of Bairo. Before the concert, an apericena is held, a convivial moment to kick off the evening and welcome guests. Entry is by donation: anyone can participate and contribute as they wish, turning a night of great music into real help for those in need. It is a perfect example of how, in small Piedmontese towns, solidarity and popular festivities still go hand in hand.
