The corn festival
The Tolle Festival is the festival dedicated to corn in Montorio nei Frentani, in the province of Campobasso. 'Tolle' is the dialect name for ears of corn: the absolute stars of a festival that, founded in 1965, is now a historic summer event in the town.
Three thousand ears of corn in two days
During the festival, over three thousand ears of corn are prepared and distributed, boiled or roasted, over two days of celebration. The event celebrates the cultural and agricultural importance of corn for the community of Montorio, with food stalls, music, and moments of conviviality.
A tradition of the Frentani hills
Recognised as a local tradition since 1965, the Tolle Festival tells the agricultural identity of Montorio nei Frentani, a village overlooking the Frentani hills of Basso Molise: an opportunity to rediscover the authentic flavours of the land and the community spirit of the town.

In 2026, the Tolle Festival will once again celebrate corn in Montorio nei Frentani (CB), as is tradition on the second Sunday of August (August 9th). The formula, consolidated since 1965, is confirmed: distribution of over three thousand ears of corn, boiled or roasted, over the two days of the festival, with food stalls, music, and moments of conviviality.
