Todi Returns to the Middle Ages
Todi City of Archers is a historical re-enactment that each spring brings the center of Todi, in the province of Perugia, back to the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. The heart of the event is the Arcus Tuder Tournament, a historical archery competition valid for the FITAST-FITARCO National Championship, which attracts about 200 costumed archers from all over Italy.
Between Competitions, Processions, and Shows
The archers compete at about twenty shooting stations set up along the streets and squares of the historic center, on a route that blends competition and spectacle. The city comes alive with historical processions, flag-wavers, drummers, historical fencing exhibitions by the Compagnia della Ruggine, medieval dances, and craft workshops, in a highly evocative setting between Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Garibaldi.
A Market and an Entire City Celebrating
Accompanying the re-enactment, the 'Tipico Todi' market, dedicated to local products, takes place in Piazza del Popolo. With guided tours of the city's monuments—from the Roman Cisterns to the Torre dei Priori—and concerts, Todi City of Archers is a perfect opportunity to experience the medieval historic center in all its atmosphere and discover one of Umbria's most spectacular traditions.
Todi City of Archers — edition 2026
The 2026 edition brought Todi back to its medieval atmosphere with the XVI Arcus Tuder Tournament. Around 200 costumed archers competed at about twenty shooting stations in the historic center, according to FITAST-FITARCO regulations. Alongside the competitions, the program offered the 'Tipico Todi' market in Piazza del Popolo, historical fencing exhibitions, dances, concerts, and guided tours of the city's monuments.

- 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM — Guided tours of the Roman Cisterns, Torre dei Priori, and Municipal Art Gallery (5 euros)
Saturday, May 2nd
- 9:00 AM — 'Tipico Todi' market continues
- 11:30 AM and 4:30 PM — Historical fencing exhibitions by the Compagnia della Ruggine
- 1:30 PM — Tournament registration; 2:00 PM — Archery competition begins
- 3:00 PM — Medieval dances and craft workshops
- 5:00 PM — Drummer performance
- 5:30 PM — Classical music concert at the Co-Cathedral of the Most Holy Annunciation

Todi is reachable by car from the E45 (Todi exit). The event takes place in the historic center, with its epicenter in Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Garibaldi.
