The Nebrodi car rally between Patti and the Gulf of Tindari
The Tindari Rally is one of the most anticipated car races in the Tyrrhenian part of Sicily. Organized by the CST Sport ASD team, based in Gioiosa Marea, the event is headquartered in Patti, a town in the province of Messina overlooking the gulf that bears the name of the ancient Tyndaris. From here, the event kicks off every September, turning the mountain roads of the Nebrodi into a stage for speed, technique, and passion.
The race winds along asphalt roads that touch the territories of Patti, Falcone, Oliveri, Gioiosa Marea, San Piero Patti, Montalbano Elicona, and Tripi: an itinerary that connects the coast to the heart of the Nebrodi, crossing landscapes that range from the sea to the villages of the Messina hinterland. The most famous special stages, such as those of Gioiosa Marea, Tripi Abakainon, and Santa Maria–Polverello, test crews and cars on technical hairpins and fast stretches.
The Tindari Rally is valid for the 9th Zone Rally Cup (CRZ) and the Sicilian Championship, with dedicated rankings for both modern and historic cars. Over the years, the race has grown to well over a hundred entries, attracting established drivers and emerging young talents. The tenth-anniversary edition in 2025 gathered 135 crews and even featured the French international champion François Delecour at the starting line.
For Patti and the entire Gulf of Tindari area, the rally is also an opportunity for popular celebration and tourism promotion. The starting ceremony on the Patti Marina seafront attracts enthusiasts and onlookers, while crowds gather along the special stages to soak up the unique atmosphere of rally competitions. It is an appointment now firmly rooted in the sporting calendar of the province of Messina and all of Sicily.
The Tindari Rally returns for its eleventh edition on September 26 and 27, 2026, as officially announced by the organizers of CST Sport ASD. The race confirms its late-September slot and its connection to the Patti and Nebrodi area, in the province of Messina.
The 2026 edition is included in the official ACI Sport calendar and is valid for the Zone Rally Cup (CRZ). As per tradition, both modern and historic cars are expected on a route that is set to confirm the event's historic municipalities.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition — including the entry list, special stages, times, and maps — has not yet been published and will be released on official channels in the weeks leading up to the race.
